The Old Jazz — Restaurant in The Hague

The worst experience I had in a long time in a restaurant. The person that greeted us came over so arrogant, he definitely showed he did not want to be there. We ordered a glass of wine and as a starter the pata negra, which is supposed to be a good quality ham. Well the way it was presented was just awful plus it did not look fresh. After taking my second bite I got a taste of mildew in my mouth, so groce. I had to spit it out. The other person tasted it as well, the ham was defenitely not edible anymore. We just wanted to leave asap. Asked for the check, which took 5 minutes to come because all the staff was busy at their phones at the bar (restaurant almost empty). I feit sick to my stomach the rest of the night.

My husband and I had an absolutely incredible anniversary meal at The Old Jazz. From the moment we arrived, we felt special, being greeted with champagne to kick off our celebratory evening. Every single bite of the food was utterly delicious, a true culinary delight. The service throughout was nothing short of wonderful, attentive without being intrusive. Appalling service - the waiter was surly and rude. Didn't wait to hear whole order, when I called him back I was ordered to "wait" and when my drink and borreltje arrived it was thrown onto the table with a crash and a sarcastic "astu". Was expecting to stay for dinner but left after a glass of wine. Asked to see the manager but was told they wouldn't be in until later, so I'm saying to Google Reviews what I would liked to have had the opportunity to explain in private.
