The Villy — Restaurant in The Hague

I fell in love with this place when I first discovered it last year. Really cozy vibe, great coffee and lunch, lots of space. I was super excited to keep going here. But I’m honestly getting quite disappointed by their constantly changing laptop policy :( Initially you could just use your laptop anywhere, which was great! Then they started the Villy Works concept and started putting no-laptop signs everywhere. The last time I was there, the table that I clearly remember being laptop friendly was suddenly no-laptop. So now you only have like 3 seats in the entire place if you want to use a laptop. The staff even asks you to move even if the entire place is empty (which is mostly the case).

I get that they are trying to push the Villy Works concept, but they charge an insane price of 10 cents per minute, which is just not affordable for starting professionals like me. I would really advise them to reevaluate their pricing strategy because this really goes against the open vibe they are trying to go for.

Normally I don’t write reviews, but this place was so bad I had to say something. I’m just some customer, but I won’t be coming back. Last time, I waited forever for my order, and it came out all wrong.. like nobody’s keeping things around here together? The staff at the counter were friendly and trying hard, but I feel like something’s seriously wrong here. I saw some girl who seemed in charge mostly on their computer instead of helping out when things were a mess. Also, the quality was pretty awful and the prices are way too high for the bad experience and service I got imho. I don’t know who’s in charge, but they’re clearly not doing their job. We have been here several times in the weekend and we call it the Slowlys instead of the Villys. We only came here for the food. Because the staff is more interested in drinking coffee(especially the boy with the dark hair) or chatting with each other instead of paying attention to the customers.
