Visited Tokyo Taiyaki Story, a quaint Japanese shop that specializes in taiyaki, a traditional fish-shaped cake often filled with sweet fillings. Taiyaki is a beloved street food in Japan, typically made with a waffle-like batter and filled with red bean paste, custard, chocolate, or other delights.
Though the shop is small and cozy, it charmingly captures the essence of tiny, cute shops found in Japan. We tried the Anko and Miso-Anko taiyaki, which are considered the most authentic versions. Anko is a red bean paste that delivers a perfect blend of creamy, warm goodness without being overly sweet. The waffle exterior was juicy and perfectly shaped like a fish, adding to the delightful experience.
The prices are affordable, making it a highly recommended spot. I look forward to visiting again to try other variants of this...
Read moreToday I brought my great aunt to this shop. I wanted her to try Taiyaki for the first time, but sadly they didn't serve them; however, the dorayaki and dango I bought made all up for it! It's really good!
The mitarashi dango is deliciously savory and sweet, and the sanshoku dango has a nice and soft flavor profile. The matcha dorayaki and custard dorayaki were both very luxurious looking! I gave my aunt the custard and kept the matcha to myself. I have just finished eating the matcha dorayaki, as a late night snack, with some hot tea and it was simply delightful! The assorted fruits were a refreshing balance to the sweetness of the creamy matcha. To my surprise, there's also anko and mochi inside the dorayaki!
It was so delicious, I am super happy I found this shop and I will definitely visit again next time I am...
