since yeasterday evening I have not been able to understand the concept of this restaurant - it is a mix of many cuisines which does not make sense at all. The food had no taste and it was mainly prepared from semi-finished products that can be bought in every supermarket (“roasted lamb roll” in fact fried spring roll with no taste/ “fried squids” mini pieces of calamari with no taste, mini burgers from frozen tasteless meat etc). The prices are pretty low for the Netherlands but for the quality they serve in this place they are still very high. The interior design is poor and the painting is peeling off the walls all over the place. There is no or not an efficient air conditioning therefore be ready to smell the food from your clothes when you get back home. The staff (probably the owner) is trying hard to be nice but unfortunatelly it can not save this place to get such a bad evaluation. It is probably the first time I am super disappointed with recommendation of google… from my point of view most of the positive reviews...
A couple of weeks ago we were lucky enough to find this amazing place in the city centre. We have been living in Utrecht for a long time but we had not seen this restaurant before. How lucky to have found it because we discovered the quality they offer. I consider it a hidden gem in the city, when we went they had just opened and there were not many people so Nikki and Bashar went out of their way to give us an excellent, warm and friendly service. Their menu is made up of dishes from different countries, thus reflecting the nationalities that make up the team. Nikki was very good at recommending which dishes suited our tastes and Bashar livened up our lunch by telling us many interesting stories about the bar and about his life. Alexia, the chef, also stopped by to say hello. Her level of care and delicacy in presenting the dishes is worth celebrating and we wanted to tell her personally. This restaurant is proof that when things are done with love they always turn out well. We will definitely be back very soon. I just hope that the good weather accompanies us so we can once again enjoy this beautiful part...
Read moreBooked for 20 people who were attending an international conference in Utrecht. The owner/manager/staff were very welcoming and extremely accommodating. We had booked indoors but they were more than willing to rearrange tables so that we could sit outside next to the canal. The food was very good. Normally Dutch hospitality does not accommodate splitting the bill by individual for large groups but this was not an issue for them. Lovely ambience next to the canal with boats floating past, singing, swans, and clocks ringing. It was a...
