River Kwai — Restaurant in Utrecht

We were there for a dinner and don't think we are going back any more . This restaurant has actually 3 different price for same food. the price on the menu board ( which used to trick in client ) are reasonable , yet after we sit down on table , there comes the thai girl gave us a menu , price is obviously more expensive than on their door , and during service the girl somehow droped tea pot on ground and we have to listen her cursing words out of her own frustration, if this is not enough to add the unpleasant experience, after we checked out I find the bill price is again different and more expensive than the expensive menu card ! It feel so cheated and dishonest restaurant, perhaps most of dutch client didn't pay attention for how different the price it appears on their menu out of door and actually charged on bill , we really wonder how this restaurant still servive treating client like this , accordingly it's not surprising that this restaurant in beautiful location yet very few client there. For Thai food lover their food taste really so so, and rude attitude ruined everything , we are not coming back to this...

We visited this place last weekend. The restaurant is located within walking distance from Utrecht train station. We read a lot of positive reviews so we decided to visit this place.

The food was excellent, very fresh and tasty. Staff very friendly and the atmosphere relaxing. As a starter we had the chicken soup and for the main course we had the chicken red curry and the beef red curry with rice and we also had a beef salade as a side dish. We had a wonderful meal for about €70.

The only 'negative' points are there is no wifi or cell phone reception in the restaurant and the entrance to the restaurant is somewhat difficult to access.

I would definitely recommend this place if you want good Thai food and I will come...

Looking to get the reminder of Thailand by eating some nice Thai food on the weekend. We reserved the place and were not disappointed. The location and the restaurant is very nice gives you a old school vibe. We ordered vegetarian spring rolls, green curry with aubergine, red curry and the fired beef with steamed and fried rice. The curries were amazing and very tasty. The spice levels are as they are mentioned in the menu. I would highly recommend ordering green curry with fried rice m. The spring rolls were ok however have a big more frozen food give and could be better. We were also craving for some Pad Thai but that’s not on the menu. The other dishes definitely did not disappoint. Highly recommended...
