Grieks Specialiteitenrestaurant Parthenon — Restaurant in Zoetermeer

I love the way the restaurant is decorated. It's a great style. The music playing also really fits, so there's a nice atmosphere you expect in a Greek restaurant. I was here with my class to celebrate Christmas, and I don't know if it's because of that, but the food we had received was really dry. In my past experiences it hasn't been, but the last time I went before this was three years ago, so who knows what could've changed. The servers are not really nice to you in my opinion, they just sound like they want you to hurry up because they want to leave your table as fast as possible again. Also, when you're clearly out of drinks they don't ever come to ask if you want something to drink, so you have to try to stop any of them. The owner here is very nice and likes to talk with the guests so you can tell him about your issues so that's nice. The food tastes good, they have nice seasoning. The salads in the salad bar are also pretty nice. Overall, you should probably stop by this place once to see if your experience will be better, because three years ago they were a delicious, perfect...

The restaurant is in the middle of old town of Zooetermeer and it's surounded by sweet typical duch houses that also host some businesses like shops and restaurants. We order typical mix platter and we got greeted by ouzo on the house which is great start to the evening. Mix platter containing of 5 different grilled meats was very well seasoned and tasty, served with rice (unfortunately not done in greek way) and tzatziki on side but it lacked typical greck salad and side dishes. We also got fries which were served in separately but put in basket on a table (lacking plate). The presentation could be better hence 4 stars for food. The place is present with greck accents all around of the restaurant. It's quite big place and was quite full on Saturday night which is always a good sign of a good food, however if I was to go for typical greck food I would look for another restaurant. Met 6 personen wezen eten, bij binnenkomst alles oké en we werden zelfs verrast met een heerlijke ouzo en een klein hapje. Dat beloofde wat goeds. Echter bij het opnemen van de eerste drankjes ontstond er al wat irritatie. Wij vroegen om een fles echte Griekse wijn maar de serveerster keek ons aan alsof ze water zag branden….uiteindelijk een karaf huiswijn besteld. Bij het bestellen van het tweede pilsje was deze lauw, aan de Griek ijs gevraagd en dit in het pilsje gedaan om te koelen. Opname van het eten werd gedaan door de eigenaresse (denken wij) en dit ging ook een beetje moeizaam en niet heel vriendelijk. Voorgerechten waren oké. Meerdere pogingen gedaan om drinken te bestellen maar serveerster had het te druk met andere tafels en liep vervolgens snel aan onze tafel voorbij, ze zal ons wel vervelend gevonden hebben na het gebeuren met de fles wijn. Toen het hoofdgerecht kwam was het een zooitje. De serveersters wisten niet wat ze brachten waardoor de borden overal werden neergezet maar niet bij de juiste personen, slordig dat dit vanuit de keuken niet goed wordt gecommuniceerd. Helaas sommige lauwe gerechten en het mandje patat van de stifado was zelfs koud. 2 van ons hadden een gerecht met een rode wijn peer, helaas was de peer (uit blik) wit. Na het brengen van de nagerechten was de Griekse koffie lauw en bij het kopje thee zat geen thee…gevraagd om een zakje thee en na een minuut of 5 kwam de theedoos. Na het vragen van de rekening lagen er 5 snoepjes op de bon, dan gaat het ons niet om een snoepje maar wel om het idee. Bij het betalen van de rekening hebben wij p.p. 5 euro fooi gedaan zelfs een goede avond wens en een bedankje kon er ook toen nog niet vanaf. Wij begrijpen de personeels problemen maar vriendelijkheid is toch een kleine moeite. In dit restaurant zijn wel wat verbeterpuntjes en dat blijkt ook wel uit...
