Kota Radja Zwolle — Restaurant in Zwolle

I went here last week to celebrate the birthday of my husband. I thought it was special place because it's always fully booked every time we wanted to make reservation. So this time we finally able to made a reservation. First impression of the place is small. The guy told us to sit on the next to the window (I thought it was nice) but then after 5 min he changed his plans and moved us to random table because the table next to the window is for a group. However after 15 mins, that table changed again and it was for 2 ppl. So I was disappointed in the beginning, especially he even made a joke that we were too early. I mean it was 3 mins early! What a joke! They should have better sitting arrangement! Then we order the first round. It took forever!!! So it matches with the joke cause they don't know "on time" system. I never wait this long at "all you can eat" place. The system is also very old fashion. The food overall is just okay. Feels like, been there done that and not going back again. Nothing so special about the food and definitely you can find everywhere with better quality and service. Came here a while back for dinner with the family and found our experience quite underwhelming.

My partner flew in to The NL and wanted to introduce my family to some easy Asian food and we decided upon trying Kota Radja.

Upon being seated the service was kind yet when we started our dining experience the service lacked actual service, kindness, efficiency and organisation.

The food was extremely average to some things not good at all. For instance the wagyu sushi was of such poor quality you were chewing on in-chewable leather, the bibimbap tasted off and sadly many of the dishes lacked flavour or authenticity. We are aware that this establishment is a fusion restaurant, yet that doesn't quantify the bad quality and service we got.

For the price we paid and the service- and quality we got, this restaurant has stupendous room for improvement. The reason I am giving 2 stars is that they do accommodate gluten intolerances and...

Gisteravond gegeten bij Kota Radja met de kids (5 en 8). We kwamen vroeg omdat de kis honger hadden en ze de volgende dag naar school moeten. Toen we zaten viel ons direct op dat er heel veel personeel rond liep, en niet iedereeen was even gestructureerd bezig (we hebben zelf 20 jaar horeca ervaring dus dan vallen dingen direct op). We hebben iedereen aan onze tafel gehad leek wel. Omdat het normaal best vlotjes gaat en er nu na onze eerste ronde al heel lang eten meer was gekomen, vroeg ik of er wat aan de hand was. Na controle bleek onze 2e ronde niet ingevoerd te zijn waardoor het nog langer ging duren. Onze kids hadden nu echt nog meer trek dus dat was jammer. Op een gegeven moment kwam die (arabisch ogende) jongeman/medewerker aan onze tafel met als tip dat we dan maar alle rondes gelijk moesten invullen omdat we het ander niet meer gingen redden. Omdat we in tijdnood zaten hebben we dat dus gedaan. Op zich best een goede tip maar wel jammer dat je dan dus veel gerechten achter elkaar krijgt en ook door elkaar. Maar ik moet zeggen dat hij echt z'n best heeft gedaan om de boel te corrigeren!

Je merkt dat als de eigenaren er niet zijn het toch anders gaat. En medewerkers moeten minder hard praten want als je aan de 1e tafel zit rechts bij de ingang hoor je alles omdat daar de computer staat. Ik denk wel dat deze avond een uitzondering was want heb altijd goeie ervaringen bij Kota Radja. En gelukkig was het eten zoals altijd super! Dus hopelijk volgende keer ipv rommelig weer...
