Surya Indian & Indo Chinese Takeaway — Restaurant in Ōtara-Papatoetoe

I don't usually review places but this place is a food heaven for sure. And they also cater to everyone's food allergy (my friends have allergies and they also feel safe to order here). I have been here multiple times now and the quality is always consistent. There is definitely a waiting time during peak hours but for such a good food I am more than happy to wait. Review of the dishes I have tried:

Schezwain Momo: Really fulfilling and spicy exactly how I like. Steamed Chilli Chicken: Whenever I am on a diet. It is my go to with tandoori papadam for the crunch. Paneer lalal(still don't know what it is called): It is a Chef's special. Grated Paneer Curry. Will totally recommend. Soy Masala: when I am eating with my vegan friends. Tawa Goat: My partner's favourite. Veg Bullet: it just taste really good with the sauce that they give. I have never had it at any other Indian places.

While we’ve yet to visit in person, we regularly order from Surya on Uber Eats - it is now the only ‘local’ Indian restaurant we will order from. While their regular ‘Kiwi-Indian’ fare is great (my wife is always happy with her Butter Chicken and naans), all the less common options I’ve tried are great. Surya introduced me to Manchow Soup which I’m a huge fan of now, as well as Chole Bhatura which is also great, and their veg spring rolls with hot sauce are brilliant. Finally, the servings are extremely generously sized and often come with some unexpected extras - for example, order a Biryani and along with it you get a big portion of yummy cabbage and onion pickle on the side....

Great food Great customer service. Friendly staff and owner. Friendly family run business. The best indo chinese in town!. No one can compete with them in terms of the price, taste and quantity. Tried heaps of so called indo.chinese places which are either completely bland and tasteless or terrible customer service or pricing doesn't justifying the taste and qty. Specially some restaurants in south Auckland where the food is bland or they act cheap by trying to charge for anything extra they can think of. So in simple words keep up the good work surya. And will definitely be back here along with spreading a good for your restaurant because...
