Bar Martin — Restaurant in Albert-Eden

Bar Martin has been my find of 2024. If I was to open a wine bar - I would want it to be exactly like Bar Martin. The wine list is superb, the service so friendly and helpful, the food is out of this world and somehow despite the the cost of living crunch - they manage it all without you shuddering while you pay the bill! We were looking for somewhere to have tea/coffee as it was 3.30pm. But of course, all cafes close at "tea time" Came across Bar Martin and we were thrilled. It plugs that 'dead time ' between cafes closing at 3.00pm and bars/restaurants opening at 5.00pm But mor e than that, what a fab venue, fab reasonably priced food, and great wine and spirits. Nice European ambience in the outdoor setting, olive trees and all. Was having a lovely time until… wow! handsy bartender maybe said manager, certainly did not look the part… offers some Ill informed guidance thou shall not smoke in this open air backyard environment, to get to the point he was wired so not that chill and you can’t smoke in that idyllic court yard with the olives and if you want a hippy vibe than go for it, it’s mind blowing but I’m leaving anyway.
