We first visited this cafe a year ago when we were wanting some soup - I had a look on google and Parkside popped up. We tried the chicken pho/ beef pho and were HOOKED - and we’ve been regular customers here ever since! BEST banter and hospitality from the team, and one staff member in particular has been the most warm, friendly and HILARIOUS person we have had hosting us at any cafe before. She remembers things we have told her on previous visits and always asks makes us laugh - makes our visit there 10/10. Myself and my boyfriend have tried many of the dishes there. Some of our faves would def be both chicken and beef pho, Mince on toast, chicken on focaccia, Moroccan lamb burger, sweet corn fritter, bruschetta and beef cheek stew to make a few. If you’re a fan of a delicious meal, fair pricing, comfy setting and the best staff service (I have to mention the best hot chocolates in Mount Albert, possibly Auckland) then go and try...
Read moreAuthentic Vietnamese food at night fused with a westernised breakfast menu. One of the best phos I've had in Auckland so far, generous serving and super tasty, both beef and chicken is nice. The chicken is poached so may seem dry but still tasty. Coffee is on point, lots of alternative milks available.. Green curry vegetarian is beautiful, range of veges and full of flavour and the fish dish was exquisite, beautiful balance of flavours and fish was cooked perfectly. The bao was a great way to start the meal, again full of flavour and generous serving of meat. Highly recommend this place for authentic Vietnamese food with a nice atmosphere and affordavble prices. The kids menu is great and perfect serving size. Big breakfast is a crowd pleaser! They also have cabinet food like scones and slices for lighter meals. Cafe located right next to rocket park. Service is awesome especially when Ange is there, she's very...

Bread accompanying eggs and toast was so thinly sliced that it was clear some corner cutting was afoot. This was more demonstrable in the normally excellent Vietnamese dishes. Both the beef salad and spring rolls were OK. But the main change was in the nuoc mam dressing. It was watery and the balance of sweet, sour, salty, and hot was way off. Our suspicion of a change in ownership was confirmed once it was confirmed that the back of house had changed. While we are not averse to change of business ownership, what tends to happen is new owners look to change things. A face-lift is one thing, but changing tried and true recipes is another. Hope they get the balance right.
Good service and...
