Golden Barbeque Noodle House — Restaurant in Albert-Eden

Went with family with kids , a total of 9 . Been to this place many years ago , thought we would try this place again . Price has definitely gone up, due to inflation. I would consider a little pricy , for lunch , as most places lunch are a little cheaper than dinners. Most dishes averages about $21-$25. Food was OK, would give it a 7/10. Food came out pretty fast. Portion size was OK. Each portion was the size of the Chinese plastic takeaway containers, that they use to serve to customers.

We ordered , fried Singaporean rice noodles , fried rice , Flat rice noodles , noodle soup, cod tofu casserole, chicken spring onions stir fry, sweet and sour pork, fried green beans . All tasted fair good. There wasn't a dish that we didn't like.

No table service. Just order at the counter, and they serve the food on your table and that's it. Also they serve all their dishes in takeaway containers, I guess that's good if you can't finish it, you can take it home. The place was fairly clean. Portion size was OK as well. Self serve tea and water. Would I go back again . YES. would I go their as ourgo-too place to eat out, then probably not. There are a few good places out there that are a touch cheaper and taste a bit nicer too. Overall...

This place is what it is, and what you'd expect around the Dominion Road area stepping back into the 70s & 80s Auckland.

Great food, good service, friendly service. The soups are awesome, and the noodles are great too. Been a couple of times now when in the area. Definitely try the deep fried chicken wings as a side!.

Good parking outside, big carpark. The only con would be it's Dominion Road so traffic around the area is a nightmare as always. Can be a bit busy in during peak times lunchtime etc.

Definitely worth stopping in for a good feed. Don't expect too flashy, if you are a bit on the fussy side then sitting in here is not for you. It's a noodle spot and great for you and the mates to fill up before moving on.

Disgusting terrible quality didn't even eat more than 2 bites of my meal and my wife didn't either was completely disappointed and shocked never in my life have I been served duck from a Chinese restaurant that was full of bones and wet soggy skin. It's literally being dried on display in the restaurant so how does it become wetter than a pornstars vag 5 minutes after cooking?! I would literally rather jam a chopstick in my urethra and cut myself repeatedly than ever eat any of this hell holes food ever again. Worst food I've ever experienced in 26 years. Do not waste your time or money...
