Thought of trying something 'different and unique' for a change?? I ordered a birthday crepe cake. 8 different flavours (green day, matcha adzuki, tiramisu, choc trio, vanilla, durian, black sesame and strawberry). Was told at pickup that the black sesame (not available) was swapped out with a coconut (not the flavour preference for the birthday person) - not a biggie but would have appreciate earlier notice. The shop is in a handy location right next to the Newmarket train station. Durian is absolutely heavenly (strong aroma and taste) ~ you just want to savour every moment of it. All the cakes are very well balanced (not sickly sweet), super light and airy (cream was delighful!). All in all, what a great decision to try Fukurou Patisserie. Absolutely a lovely hidden gem! Will definitely back in...
Read moreCosy little coffee and cake shop, set within the welcoming confines of a small village square type setting. Adjacent to the Newmarket train station hub. Friendly and welcoming service. Mocha was the tastiest I’ve had in recent memory, and they do have soy milk for those so inclined. As it is a patisserie, it was a sin not to try any of the delicious cakes in the case, but next time the tiramisu for sure. All of the cakes looked delicious and like art almost a shame to eat, with generous slices provided. Four comfy tables in an intimate setting, and a cute and stylish display of owls in many forms: little tchotchkes, a painting, the curtains to the back, and even the clock. Well worth a visit, I’ll likely make it a regular stop along my way into the CBD whenever I...

It also looked like you could get the cakes by the slice rather than getting a whole one. We had one pre-ordered and picked up. The cake itself wasn't iced very well, the finish was quite rough and uneven, particularly down the sides. But once you cut into it you see all the layers that were used to make up the crepe cake. There was even different flavoured/coloured icing between a few layers. The cake itself tasted nice, quite soft and luxurious. I was disappointed that the plaque was made from fondant and not chocolate. It was quite a nice cake and a bit different from the...
