Where do I start.. walked in no one greeted us had to ask the bar girl do we just sit down? She said yip.. seems like she did not want to be there at all.. sat down got the guacamole and chips, was not guacamole at all no salt no pepper no tomatos no red onion no line juice no lemon juice was just plain avacado in a 2 inch by 2 inch bowl to a massive bowl of chips, 0 flavor... Then got the fish tacos and very disappointed, a tortilla that just fell apart, very small bit of fish and some chopped tomatoes and some sause, whole thing had no flavor very plain and was not tastey or Mexican at all.. also got the jelapinos bites witch he told me they were home made witch was a 100% lie! were the same ones you get from countdown or new world, the brand is leader and I showed him and trys to change $14 for them... Got the holy fried chicken that was not to bad at all. End of the day was not a good experience and music was 2 loud and why was the cricket playing on every t.v at a Mexican restaurant?? Something needs to change asap if your a Mexican restaurant make Mexican food?? On a good note the guy who was our server did try his best to rectify the situation to his best but sadly we were just disappointed. Quite sad because I love Mexican food and have been to Mexican restaurants all around n.z and aussi and this was a big let down. May come back with friends if things...
Read moreThis was our first time at a Mexican restaurant where we didn’t get complimentary corn chips and salsa, which surprised us. Drinks took quite a while to come out, and the frozen margaritas were far too salty. I had asked if there were other flavours but was told only the original was available, so I ordered that. Later on, after we asked for the margaritas to be removed, two of a different flavour (which I would have preferred from the start) were brought out without asking. I only wanted one, as my husband was happy with his beer.
The kids got a bit antsy waiting, and we didn’t find out about the shelves of toys and colouring books until much later by chance when we went to the bathroom. Mentioning that when we arrived would have really helped.
The food was good and the waiter was friendly, which we appreciated.
When it came to paying, the staff member verbally read out our order but didn’t mention any margaritas. When I questioned it, he printed the receipt and both margaritas were still there, even though there should have only been one. He did quickly delete the extra one once it was pointed out, but thought that was quite cheeky.
It was a nice night, and we appreciate the experience, but please let parents know that you have that amazing game/colouring shelf when they enter. And less salt in the margarita mix (it wasn’t just on the rim...
Read moreThis restaurant had good vibes overall but was more of a Mexican inspired restaurant than Mexican which was disappointing to discover. The tables were tight together as well. The waiters were nice but didn’t explain that there was self serve water, hot sauce, and condiments. The drinks are not made by a bartender other than shaken. They have an auto pour machine that measures everything out. I had the pineapple margarita and it was not very sweet almost sour. We ordered the Chips and guacamole which wasn’t bad on flavor but had a misleading title to it. I would say it was more a chips and dip because you got 3 dips with it all with the same amount versus having more guacamole. The guacamole was also interesting it had the browning color to it and as it sat there it slowly started like separating almost like there was oil mixed in with it. The enchiladas I would say were definitely more of a play on enchiladas vs actual enchiladas. It was a taco covered in salsa and melted cheese. The flavor was good but not exactly enchiladas. The macho bowl was overall really good. Only thing is that the rice felt precooked like from a package. Also was surprised that there were 2 different types of chicken in it one was like shredded and then there was fried chicken. Which the description just...
