McDonald's Kerikeri — Restaurant in Bay of Islands-Whangaroa Community

Good Morning, We visited the Kerikeri store on 26/3/22 and only stayed as we'd promised a treat for our granddaughter. We enjoy McDonald's and appreciate the extra effort being made during Covid. Kerikeri did not do at all well. I've now read reviews and it's not a good look. It is clearly not a short term problem either and needs to be addressed urgently. When we entered I expected to show our passes and was told they aren't required any more. I think they are until the 4th April. People were entering without masks and there was no distancing. One lad was offered a mask by staff. The place was so dirty and the flies were there in abundance. In the 45 minutes we were there no surface was cleaned and all the tables were dirty. The touch screen was grimy, as were counters. Toilets certainly not acceptable. Staff were in high spirits laughing and chatting. Two actually ran while organising drinks behind the counter to get them to drive thru customers. This was a safety concern. No table service and meals were placed on a table without checks as to whether the intended person collected it. What an opportunity for a thief. Our food was barely hot and burgers very poorly presented. Staff were friendly but it seemed as if they were having a great time, not customer focused. I wrote the above directly to McDonald's Head Office. They haven't replied so I have posted this...

It's fast food ok. There is some nice people but they don't care when cooking they have Pattys in trays and stick them in something like an oven or so I like the Frozen cokes alot but when I ask for one they don't ask size!? Please Mac Donald's kerikeri fix this. Totally disappointed with 'double shot long black coffee' today - no joy - like a cup of instant coffee (little taste, no 'oil slick' whatsoever). Disgusted... (If I hadn't bought as takeout, it would've been given back).

Standard McD's menu - good range of fast foods. Friendly helpful staff.

Great playground for children... Clean facilities (and toilets). Some outside seating too. Heaps of car parking on site and nearby.

Right next to brilliant child's outdoor play area at local park (to rear of carparking). Public toilets and Library 150m away...
