Brew Co — Restaurant in Bay of Plenty

So myself and friends went to Brew for dinner lastnight, 2 for 1 Burger night. my god was it the worst experience ever!!

We placed our order for food & grabbed a couple of drinks, my friend ordered her & her partner's meals and I ordered straight after,all was well. So we thought.

Then 1hour passes by we still hadn't received our food so my friend asked the waitress how much longer our food would take, she repeated the order back to us we then agreed as she was correct and were told our meals would be out within 5min.

25minutes later still no food.

By this time we we're extremely hungry and becoming impatient as ya it wouldn't take this long for burgers & fries.

We then see a burger on the food pass and got excited yay surely this is our order. Turns out it was my order I was super happy thanking finally. I thought id wait for my friends orders to arrive so we can all eat together, thinking there's must be coming any minute now as the ordered before me, turns out that was a bad idea.

Waited another 15min and still no food, at this stage we we're all over it!! Then we see the window to the food pass close! I went to the bar and asked when would my friends food be ready as they've been waiting 1&half hour and we were told it was going to be 5min which had been 25min ago. I was then told they would go to the kitchen to find out what was going on, the staff member then comes out and asks me if the other staff had spoken to me I said no. He said can you give me a minute and ill come to your table I then said fine but it had better soon real soon.

I went back to the table and sat down. Maybe 5min later another staff member comes to the table, apologised and said that the docket hadn't printed and that's why there food hadn't been made. He then offered a free round of drinks or a refund for the food, of course they took the refund!! I popped my buger in a takeaway box and we left.

Had my burger was not great at all.

This was by far the worst experience I've had in a very very long time.

The situation could have been dealt with in alot better of a way!!

It was alot more frustrating as myself and my friend have hospitality backgrounds.

So would not recommend this establishment to anyone. Side note: we we're not the only table that received a refund another table did too as they waited over an hour for there meals only for them to be cold.

2 for 1 Burger night turned...

My wife and I went to Brew for drinks and a late lunch on Sunday 16 April 2023. We ordered drinks and that was good - a large selection. I then ordered burgers as there's a 2-for-1 special on Sunday. I was told that the kitchen opens at 4 pm but I could order from a limited range of snacks, so I ordered a bowl of fries and another round of drinks shortly afterwards. I saw the crowd building up so thought I'd get my order for dinner in quick to get ahead of the queue. At 4 pm, I was told to wait until 4.15 pm when the kitchen would open. Once again, wanting to get to the front I approached the staff, intending to place an order for burgers and at 4.15 or shortly after I was told that I needed to wait a little longer. How much longer? Who know!! We then left and went across the road for dinner. I also noticed another group of patrons do the same for their dinner. I will not go back in a hurry, mainly because of the lack of honesty - nothing else. It's a good place, otherwise. If they only told me at the start that the full kitchen would open at a specific time, with a degree of accuracy and honesty, I would have been...

I enjoyed the food, but was disappointed with service. The menu description was not consistent with the dish provided (didn't mentioned that the item had sesame seeds which trigger one of the kids allergies).

When I requested a replacement without the sesame seed they said that couldn't exchange the plate because I didn't advised the allergies before hand. I've argued that another dish dwhich we also ordered for the adults) had sesame seeds in the description so we felt safe when looked at the menu but it fell in deaf ears.

But the cherry of the cake was that the dish that had sesame seeds in the description came WITHOUT it. 😂

So for me the kitchen service was inconsistent and the front disnt handle that well. Not a place I am planning...
