Popsies Indian Restaurant Café & Bar — Restaurant in Bay of Plenty

We come to Whakatane 3-4 times a year and this is our go to for Indian food. We would always take a few dishes in our chilli bin to take back home to Auckland too. It was very tasty. Last time we were here in May and the food was disappointing. We thought we would give it a go again as that was the only time we didn’t enjoy it. When we asked for a table for two, it seemed like an inconvenience for the lady behind the counter. She didn’t say anything. Took some menus took us to a table, plonked them down and just walked away to the kitchen. My husband and I didn’t sit down, we just walked out as obviously she didn’t want us there and we are not up for being treated rudely. Friends & I met for lunch. We pre-ordered over the phone so the meal would be ready when we arrived as I was on lunch break. I checked their menu out via menu log and ordered the Tandoori chicken salad. When I got there my friends had got there meals and questioned how long my salad meal would be, was told there are no salad meals. Was not told this over the phone when order was placed. Chef came out with tandoori chicken & said he will see what he could do. 20mins later still no tandoori salad so I sat there without food. 30mins later was told it was not coming.
