For what you pay versus what you get, in this very tough economic climate, The Bakehouse Cafe in Ōpotiki delivers far beyond all expectations. I had the Pork & Watercress pie, as well as the good Ole Steak & Cheese pie. Sizes of both pies were incredible, the fillings were amazing, the flavors just out of this world, & the pastry was light, golden & just perfect. Absolute price gouging. Ordered a "Chicken melt with Avocado with wedges" They wanted to charge me $25.00 for it. Then proceeded to tell me that there was no, Avocado.... I simply asked how much are they discounting the melt with one of the major ingredients missing?... NO DISCOUNT... SAME PRICE... Like hell... I just walked out of thier shop disgusted. Will, never go back to these rip, off agents and hope any reading this do the same. If you want good value, top quality food and great service, Call in the Bridge Street Cafe next to the Caltex...
