Arthur St Kitchen — Restaurant in Canterbury

The physical atmosphere in this cafe is quaint and great with its separate rooms. The staff - no smiling allowed!! The cutlery - let's return the cutlery that is dirty twice before the 3rd set is actually clean. Prices - it's all guesswork and one doesn't really want to hold up the queue asking what each item is worth. Tables - sticky surfaces that may need to be refurbished, with bits on it when moving the S&P to put coffee in position. It was a sunny morning where we were sitting. I'm not sure I'd go again for a meal. This is the second disastrous breakfast I've had there, but thought it was a one-off. In response to your comment about the 'empty plates' - they weren't empty. The scrambled eggs were not cooked through and hubby didn't finish his either for a different reason. The cutlery did not have water marks, it was cutlery that wasn't quite cleaned by the machine, but hardened with the drying cycle. Sorry - was not a good meal at all. If you ever need a cup of well made coffee or food to go on your busy day then I definitely would recommend Arthur Street Kitchen. With great service and smiles, as well as their warm welcome to the shop would make your day a whole lot brighter. They have good selection of food Keto, Gf etc. I may not have tried them all yet, but what I had, surely was good ( I had 2 savouries, 2 coffees and 1 slice to take away :D). Would have taken photos and put it with my review but was too late, food was almost gone when it was served. I'm sure, once you try it out, it would be the same.

I didn't have a great experience here. Positives are that there is a wide selection of gf, vegan, and keto options in the cabinet. However, I tried to order lunch off the menu and the first 3 items I chose were unavailable even though it was only 1pm. I ended up having the lentil Dahl which had good flavour but the lentils were undercooked and chewy. The staff were also frazzled and rude, quite unpleasant to interact with.
