We went Wednesday evening was not impressed with the gentleman whom came to our table. After a complaint was made. One at our table ordered a shrimp cocktail what was served up was not or no where near shrimp cocktail. When he came without viewing the dished up cocktail was rude and obnoxious stating it was shrimp as thats all we serve. When he was told it wasn't shrimp he very loudly said she you calling me a lair which we hadn't, but we firmly told him it wasn't shrimp. He said he would prove it by bring out the bag it came from. Still hadn't seen the dish as waitress had taken back to kitchen and apparently scrapped into rubbish. This person came back with a full bag of frozen Shrimp and proceeded to say that they had purchased another type as a trail and yes it had s mix but normally would only use the ones he had brought out. No apology was forth coming for arguing and his actions that we all 5 of us were in the wrong. I have always recommended the old Bank to visitors but after his actions on Wednesday night I won't be doing...

I'm very disappointed with the service tonight. We ordered a takeaway meal for 4 adults and a child. On ordering the bacon and mushroom pasta the person ordering accidentally mentioned chicken as almost everywhere else has chicken with their pasta. At the time of ordering this was never clarified before the end of the call. We got chicken and basil pasta instead. Upon realising this when getting home, we rung to explain there was a mistake and that we ordered bacon and mushroom pasta. We were asked if we wanted the correct meal made we replied yes. Then as we were talking we were hung up on mid sentence. Then at time of collection we were told we had to pay again. After refusing to pay for their error and discussion with management and still wanting us to pay half, the meal was left behind. This service was not acceptable. This could have been avoided if clarified at time of ordering, then again when we rung back about...

Received some terrible service today from the lady in the front of the bar. She gave me the wrong informations about my food( I have allergies) and the food I received was cold and parts burnt. When I went up the lady was very defensive and kept saying the business is at a loss they would still like me to pay for the food. I said I was not going to pay for food that was not up to standards and food that she gave me the wrong information about. It ended with her accusing me of being mean? I am so shocked by this attitude as I approached her kindly about it. There were other people in the restaurant at the time witnessing this ladies attitude towards me and my friend. When I finally mentioned talking to her manager about her service she then took the charges off and raised her voice at me telling me not to come back. Very upsetting...

Came here on January 27th 2019 and Timàru was a zombie town, everywhere was closed with the exception of a couple of places (sewing, knitting, scrap-booking and clothes shops) and everyone was either at the concert or other event that was going on. As the only people in the front bar, we got a friendly welcome and the selection of beers on offer is reasonable, but expensive. Background music was mainstream from across several decades, but not offensive. Didn't have any food, but the menu looked good and not expensive. Would come back again. Four stars for the price of the drinks.

Sizzler steak was good with a gravy garlic sauce. With a pile of chips and old school salid like I used to get on the farm. So top points there.... My daughter had the chicken and cranberry burger. Great size with plenty of Chips too. Special menu for the 60+ which is popular based on the numbers here at dinner time. Gave up on the waiter coming back after clearing our plates for a desert order..

I really dont want to say how good this place is just in case I cant get a table. We come here every time we go to Timaru the food is so so good, the meals are so generous I have to get a Takeaway container. The meals in the photos are from the light menu would you believe it!! Staff were very nice the service was quick you cant felt the place. We'll be back real soon.
