I appreciate their patience in explaining what flour and oil were used in gluten-free menu via a call.
I donāt mean to be rude and I hope this doesnāt dishearten them, but I strongly believed this can be taken as a feedback to improve. To be honest, this is by far the worst gluten-free fish & chips Iāve ever had in NZ.
Overall it tasted like some overnight or straight out of freezer. The chips were inconsistent and oily, the fish was incredibly hard and bland. Usually other fish & chips my fork couldnāt hold the fish because itās crispy outside but soft inside. For this, i can easily just ācarryā the fish with my fork and even swing it no joke. It was just........hard. I couldnāt finish it.
Iām not sure what went wrong in their recipe or method but I think maybe they should go out and try other stalls to get some references? Iāve the best gf fish & chips at Queenstown - Erikās fish & chip and they are coeliac friendly.
Hope this can bring some improvement for your GF menu. All...
