Jolin's Restaurant — Restaurant in Christchurch

22 June 2022 - I'm not cooking tonight and decided to eat out (to spoil myself 😆) since I cooked most of the time.

I chose this eatery because my kiddo wanted to eat preserved egg and pork congee and I want to try their combination veggie and chicken in chilli pot (麻辣香锅). I wanted to try this restaurant for some time as well, due to the good reviews on Google Maps.

Both dishes are highly recommended 👍.

You can ask for extra spicy 🌶 if you want. They can also replace it with other protein (e.g. Lamb, beef or seafood) if you request it. ​ So delicious 😋. Authentic taste. Will definitely go back to eat the chilli pot again.

Overall, it was a good experience from this Chinese restaurant. There is plenty of seating area. There is plenty of onsite parking 🅿 They accept cash and EFTPOS including credit card payments (Paywave payment is not available, for those who want to know). Would I go back? Yes 😀..

Cannot use words to describe my experience at this restaurant. I ordered a beef noodle soup, and when I got the meal, it looked okay, but then when I was about to eat it, the noodle smelled like spoiled food, used clove, and just smelled so bad that you can’t imagine, and that I wasn’t able to actually put it in my mouth. So then I left it to the side and eat another meal that my boyfriend ordered, it was better than the noodle soup, but still, so terrible. We ended up ordering plain rice with them cos I was so hungry that I needed some food. I’m the afternoon, my boyfriend and my stomach started to ache so much, and my boyfriend even got diarrhea. An absolutely amazing experience! Actually we wanted to go in another restaurant for our dinner and unfortunately our expected one had already been closed. We found that Jolin's was open. And it actually turned out from much better one! We were nicely welcomed with beautiful smile. Great menu with a huge diversified range. The service was pretty quick, compared with other restaurants in that area. The foods were delicious and fresh. They served a good amount that we couldn’t finish it all and we didn’t want to leave the left overs so the take away containers led us to a nice solution!
