BurgerFuel Riccarton — Restaurant in Christchurch

It was my birthday recently, so me and my mother went to this specific Burger Fuel branch to redeem my birthday burger they offer in the app. First of all, this offer was a 2 for 1, when in the previous year we’ve redeemed our birthday burgers and it’s just get one free, that was a suprise but we did want two burgers anyway. When we tried to order the burgers of our preference, the woman serving us told us we had to order specific burgers in order to get that deal, this was another change to the birthday burger offer that we weren’t expecting and this was disappointing. In large writing at the top, it says all burgers in this section have salad in them and that is a large priority for what we want in a burger. So, we settled for what we thought was a plentiful salad, patty and bun burger. When we received our burgers we saw the exact opposite… two burgers that would barely count as one, a flat bun, a patty, a single slice of cheese, and another bun on top to top it off. It was the flattest, most disappointing burger we had ever seen. On my birthday of all days, this was quite devastating for us. As you would, my mother asked a staff member about our extremely misleading and disappointing burger. It turns out that in the tiniest print it said this burger does not have salad in it and the menu displayed their burgers not aligned with the correct burger itself, which would make sense for us being mislead by which burger we were getting and the woman taking order never said we would only be getting a single patty. The staff made no effort to adjust our burgers or apologize or anything, almost going on rude. We ate our burgers and left hungry and disappointed. Response to owner: I guess I’m at fault for not taking a picture proof that the close sign was up and the staff were indeed cleaning up the restaurant with the lights deemed. Did the CCTV clips show that customers stopped entering the premise after 21:00? Pretty aggressive for the owner to start name calling after I simply stated the facts. If a business closes 2 hours before stated time, it’s unprofessional. If owner just said oh hey sorry the Google hours didn’t sync up to the actual hours, I would totally understand. But instead owner decides to go the immature route. Seems like management ALSO has plenty of space for growth. Own up to making mistakes- it’s the only way one can progress and change!

On a Saturday night we planned to treat ourselves with a dinner at BurgerFuel after a long day of hiking. After burning off thousands of calories from a 4 hour hike we were so excited to get some juicy burgers. We arrived before 21:00 and they already had the close sign up while the staff was cleaning up the place. Their stated business hours are until 23:00! It was such a major disappointment and we were in utter shock why a business would close two hours earlier than stated! BurgerFuel seemed so well marketed and we love the food there. Seems like they need to have better training with their young staff to stay professional and work their whole work shift hours! I had a few concerns prior to finalizing my purchase today , but I must commend the exceptional customer service provided by the young male operator. His prompt assistance and insightful answers satisfactorily addressed all of my inquiries.

Furthermore, we was pleasantly surprised when the cook in the kitchen took a moment to greet us and express their gratitude. This thoughtful gesture made us feel acknowledged and valued from the moment we entered until we left.

The atmosphere in the place was up beat suitable for all ages to eat in , impeccably clean and tidy, creating a professional ambiance. Additionally, plenty of tables and seats and the bean bag seats on the floor provided a comfortable seating arrangement

Regarding the burgers and thickshakes , I must assert that they are undeniably of top-notch quality.

I am absolutely thrilled with my decision to make a repeat purchase. The freshness and superior quality of the burgers far exceeded my initial expectations.
