Dragon Garden Chinese Restaurant — Restaurant in Christchurch

This was a surprise. Went here as other options were already closed. Didn't expect much, but left surprised.

Our order consisted of the following:

Garlic chicken and bok choi. Big serving cooked to perfection. Ingredients seemed really fresh. Flavourful and delicious. Will absolutely be back for more of this.

Fried Chicken. Was boneless chicken in a delicious light batter with a chili dipping sauce. Again, great portion size for the prize. Delicious, and also ingredients seemed really fresh. Another one we'll return for.

Steam BBQ pork buns. Served three, light fluffy bun with a tasty filling containing lots of pork chunks. Delicious. Probably some of the best steamed BBQ pork buns we've had.

BBQ Pork on Rice. Was a long wait for this one, but was delicious. Unlike BBQ pork I've had elsewhere. Seemed like a big pork cutlet cooked when ordered and sliced up. Could be wrong, but that's how it seemed.

Food was all delicious. Really great flavours and nice fresh ingredients.

If there's a complaint, it's how long some of the dishes took to come to our table. The quality of the food was exceptional, and service by wait staff decent. Canned drinks were also well priced with a good range... Coke, Dr pepper, deep spring etc. Plus tons more.

Worth a...

I don't know how to start this... We have been cooking, donating and doing everything we can for the police on the front line.... We contacted McDonald's who donated 70 cheeseburgers, I then slow smoke brisket for 8 hours and made rolls with a cheese and mustard reduction...... We made sushi.... And my partner and children spent the night driving around to the police in deans and and Linwood making sure they had something nice to eat and a thank you for there hard work.. Not only as thank you but something the children could appreciate... That comes to tonight where I decide let's do something different for the police...lets do Chinese..... So I ring GARDEN DRAGON RESTAURANT 384 RICCARTON RD... I tell them how amazing McDonald's Sydenham was with there donation to the police and ask if they would like to donate some wonton or spring rolls..... Sure the manager says.... Come on down..... So I do..... I meet the manager and say thank you I ask him for whatever he can do and that I don't expect the same as a big franchise but we are so grateful for what they can do... He asks me to wait........ 35 minutes later.... The police arrive....... And I'm trespassed from there restaurant...Im speechless Will not support them after...

My review for UberEATS. I wanted to threw it away. I added a note to the restaurant indicating tissues and I need 5 of them. I also noted for food, 'no chilli's, and they gave me chilli in both of my fungus dishes. They made the fungus very very spicy to the point it affected the overall taste for me. I wish they had just removed them all instead of adding sooo many. I've had these fungus dishes before and they were not always this spicy. So I wonder if they purposely added more or simply forgot, but for whatever reason, it tastes very spicy to me. I think they're either releasing their anger onto me which is evil, or I'm tasting my own anger from their deliberate intentional malevolent ways to hurt me. I couldn't enjoy my meal due to the spice, and feel deliberately cheated with the chilli + no tissues. 1/5. I threw it away out of anger.

This is as well as not adding any tissues at all.

The UberEATS delivery guy was also not very friendly at all. He just walked away without even acknowledging me and my cheery thank you. He just mumbled under his breath without so much as looking back at me. It felt wrong and it was weird.

I asked for tissues and they didn't...
