The Fitz 2 Sports Bar — Restaurant in Christchurch

Messaged the Fitz to book a table for our family group for Dinner. We got there and the table was in front of all the patrons watching the game🤦🏽‍♀️ which was a little loud-ish. My suggestion is when you get group bookings esp for Families put them in that space infront of the Dart Board because we didn't have to talk over each other and it's a perfect spot near the Big Screen where you can still enjoy a meal, drink and watch the sports. We set up the tables there.

Service is friendly but waited awhile ordering the platter for 2 off the smokehouse menu. The Waffle Fries and Sausage is what I enjoyed. Everyone's Burgers looked amazing I think they enjoyed them? You have to go to the bar and order your food. They don't have a person coming to your table to take orders. Looks like there were only a couple staff serving...

The food was slightly disappointing. I ordered the pork belly only to be informed after a while that there were no confit potatoes so I chose fries. I expected a slightly crispy pork belly, but while it was well cooked there was no crispy fat. The gravy was also like warm. My husband and daughter had a share platter and whilst it was tasty, we were surprised that the meat tacos were empty tacos with a bowl containing 2 pork...

What an incredible place for cheap drinks and AWESOME food. Friendly staff who want to please their customers. Highly recommend the ribs but be warned, the full rack is huge! Lamb shank is beautiful. The Carbonara was a big surprise.... It is delicious, and the pesto in the sauce pushes it to a new level. Don't be fooled into thinking it's just a sports bar.... The food is REALLY good.
