The most beautiful fish and chips, freshly cooked and with a very nice crunchy batter. The potato fritter was cooked to perfection! Very generous servings of chips, one scoop is too much for one person. I was there on a busy Friday night at 6.30pm and never got an opportunity to call first and place my order in so it took a wee while for my order to be ready as the shop was full of hungry patrons but but it wasn't enough to put me off at all and in fact i would always be happy to wait for these fish and chips. Lovely family-run business. Always great food. One of the best things about this business was that right after the earthquake they opened their doors to customers - it was probably 2 days after the February earthquake and they were open making food for everyone. Most people in the area didn’t have power or running water, and so this was the first hot meal I’d had since the earthquake. First time went there and the reason was because on their menu online, it says they have crispy chicken half. Turned out that they don't sell that anymore. So I bought lemon chicken and roast pork Chow Mein. Lemon chicken was so terrible. We couldn't eat them because the chicken was so rubbery and hard to chew.
