Unsurprised that there are other people reviewing and complaining about the old male staff member who has glasses and is balding.
Both times I have been served by him he has been nothing but disgusting.
The first instance sarcastically saying 'gracias' when we took our coffees like he was offended we didn't say thank you fast enough.
Now today when my husband was ordering our coffee and he asked if we wanted cream on one of the drinks (which was going to be mine), I said to my husband that I didn't want any so he could complete the order.
The old man then proceeded to say to me very aggressively 'you can speak to me you know?'.
Honestly insane behaviour which he justified by saying 'it was just a joke', no apology or anything for making me feel insanely uncomfortable and no response when my husband said to him that 'thats an odd thing to say'
Your management needs to do something about this staff member as his attitude is disgusting and his coffee making skills don't make up for it in the slightest.
Usually my favourite Starbucks out of the 3 in Christchurch, but this guy...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThree staff disengaged with customers and their duties. Engaged in conversation with one another. The girl on the cash register had her jersey sleeves over her hands and stood waving them in a circular motion, while we were waiting to order. Then she changed her top and went on a break. Came back with two other girls and ate food from a different outlet from the Mall and sat inside Starbucks eating the food. It was not busy at any stage yet the coffees took an age to come up. It was the third cafe we had tried as the others in the area were full. We know why. The wind had blown leaves and napkins in the entrance. None of the staff attempted to clean the area despite not being busy. The empty milk containers were stacked by the entrance to the kitchen/service area in the cafe. Not only did they look untidy but just another example that no one was taking charge or cared. A negative example of an...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI'm not usually a reviewer!! But I went to this Starbucks to get a pink drink. The last few times I've gone there was a lot of ice, so I asked for it with no ice. I'm American and got Starbucks a lot in the States with no ice, and I didn't know the policies here in NZ, so when I was given a half full cup, I asked if it could be filled up. The guy looked at me like I was stupid and said "You ordered it with no ice. That's what happens with no ice. Do you want ice?" It was extremely condescending and humiliating. I would have paid extra to have it filled up with no ice, had I known, but I didn't know and was just asking if there was a way to fill it up. It was uncalled for. I hope he was having a bad day...
