Monsoon Thai Restaurant — Restaurant in Devonport-Takapuna

My low rating is due to finding a sharp shard of scallop shell in my main course. I only had half of my meal and my friend had the other half. By time I nearly finished my half of the meal I bit down on this shell as it stabbed me in the side of my mouth. This was when I pulled the shard out it out to discover what it was! I put it on the side of my plate. When the waitress came around to clear the table I then advised her. All she said was sorry i will tell the chef. They still made me pay full price!! The piece found was razor sharp and if it had got stuck in my throat it would have been a more serious outcome. I will not be going back here again. Be wary...

Waited more than half an hour for a very small lukewarm bowl of at best average Tom yum soup. One main served to wrong person, then a very small bowl to another, then 10 minutes later the second main turned up by the time which first main no longer warm. Over priced and smaller portions than the many other Thai places we go. Less than half full of diners at the time so heavens know what service would be like if...

Horrible, really terrible takeout. Measly cold portion for Tom yum soup, zero taste. undercooked cocconut prawns and tasteless chicken pad Thai with minimal chicken. I have never felt compelled to ever write a review online about anything..... EVER.
