Magic Broomstick Segway Tours — Attraction in Devonport-Takapuna

My niece and I went for a tour with Eridani and had the time of our life. I didn't know what to expect from the tour itself, we were just curious about riding a segway but the tour itself was such a nice surprise. As a local to Auckland, I was surprised by how insightful Eridani was to her neighborhood. She knew every nook and cranny, helping us explored it to it's full extent - even showing us where Lorde grew up.

The Segways are simple to figure out and they do spend a fair amount of time teaching you the basics and etiquette of riding. If you're a little shy of giving this ago because you're scared of making a fool of yourself, it's dead easy. You'll be kicking yourself for not trying this sooner.

Before starting my heart rate was up and my hands were sweaty. I can't ride a bike. I can't ski. I can't roller (or ice) skate. But with Pauline's encouragement and calm, patient teaching I learned to use a Segway and had a BLAST. Just so much fun. We saw so much and learned heaps, all while doing wild amounts of whizzing. Such good value for money. I really liked the way that Pauline got us to master basic skills, then practice them, and then added to them on the way, giving careful individual attention to ensuring that every person was safe and competent before getting us to try harder things (like driving up Mt Victoria). She also found safe spaces for us to give it a burn and test the limits. We finished wanting to buy a Segway ourselves! I've tried quad biking and it's fun but riding a Segway...

If you're considering booking a tour - stop considering it and just book it! SO MUCH FUN!

We hadn't ridden Segways before, but that was not a problem - On the Mount Vitoria Tour, our awesome guide Pauline had us zooming around in a few minutes and we all felt super safe and very confident. It is really easy and incredibly addictive.

The scenery is magnificent. We collectively said "WOW" about 400 times. Such pretty sights.
