Burger Wisconsin Gisborne — Restaurant in Gisborne

I’ve been a fan of BW in other towns for almost 30 years since they started so while staying in Gisborne I was delighted to see one here…..but there was zero delight in receiving my regular CCC order.. Burnt stale bun, miserable salad, 2 of the thinnest slices of Camembert I’ve ever seen (impressed that someone can cut it this thin tbh) and about a teaspoon of what I assume is cranberry sauce- flavourless and weird texture, then there was the “chicken” - overcooked tiny pieces and a smear of Mayo…. Gone are the days of a delicious, flavour packed burger, dripping in chunky cranberry sauce with a recognisable piece of chicken breast(not sure what they use now?) and a crunchy salad where you used to have to wash your face as you could hardly get the juicy burger in your mouth….not to mention copious cheesy goodness. So do yourself a favour and save the disappointment and jog on to somewhere where they have happier staff (slamming doors, freezers, and ingredients down) who know how to make a burger. Miserable...

First time getting BW from the new owners and safe to say the other reviews are correct. Such a drop in quality and service. We were given the wrong order, only to realise once we'd driven home half an hour away - called up and they didn't seem to care but acknowledged that our food was there waiting. We had to drive back in to collect, and they even insisted on keeping the order they'd accidentally given us. The server said he wanted to keep the wrong order "for the staff". Saw the vegan burger poster so bought two today for myself and my friend. Didn't know what to expect. Burger was as small as a Macca one with dark green lettuce (not the lighter inner leaves) and one slice of pale hothouse tomato. Overall I was greatly underwhelmed. It was bland. At $15 it would be better to have a fried portobello mushroom or some spice. The patty was OK, as in not great or amazing or anything. Been there, done that, got the t-shirt, but would I do it again?
