Awesome spot to have coffee and a meal. Beautiful building on the inside with the option to sit outside when the weather is playing along. The food is fantastic. I've had the vietnamese with sautéed tofu and it was lovely with a generous serving size. The coffee is from the legendary flight coffee and is brewed well and consistently. The people who work there are very friendly and attentative. This place can get quite busy at times and it can be hard to get a seat, especially on the weekend. Absolutely would recommend.

One of the best cafe's I have been to. 100% worth a visit, and I will definitely be going again if I am in Gisborne. This is a very busy cafe but the staff found us somewhere to sit, then when a bigger table was available they offered us that space. The menu has amazing options, your classic breakfasts, but also some unique twists. The smoothies are so delicious. I had the berry smoothie, and it was sweet and refreshing. Portions are also great. You leave feeling like you have had a good feed for sure

We stopped by here for breakfast and were really impressed. The staff were really warm and welcoming. We’d clearly hit the peak hour as all tables were busy but the staff were able to accommodate us until a table became free. The food was delicious and the portion sizes were huge! Lovely coffee too. I’d definitely recommend a visit if you’re in the area.

I first went to Flagship Eatery a couple of years ago and had one of the most memorable brunches of my life. I've been gagging to go back, but I'm sad to say my expectations were not met second time around when we attended on Saturday afternoon. While we do allow for covid-related staff shortages etc, there were plenty of staff on for end-of-day service. We were greeted with no warmth when we walked in, and throughout our lunch. We ordered our lunch, and waited 45 minutes for our food to show. The staff didn't engage with us when we politely asked if our food would be coming soon, offered no additional service (asking about the meal, apologising for the delay etc) and while the food was delightful, the service really tainted the experience. Unfortunately it was a really uncomfortable lunch, which was a shame after the initial experience a...

Initial warm greeting on entrance however not a pleasant experience from then on. Another waitress seated us and proceeded to take our drink order first then return to take our food order. Ordered a large flat white and earl grey. Out came a SMALL flat white and an earl grey. Waitress did not return after that to take our food order.

The waitress and other waitresses did not approach us to take our food order and only got our food order in after having to flag the waitress over. Initially, we were one of the first to be seated but by this time, all other tables got their orders in by this point.

Food ok. Felt the experience at the flagship was let down by one waitress unfortunately after reading such good reviews. Did not return...

Had a really disappointing experience here. Ordered a coffee and breakfast before work as here from out of town. Pre-second lockdown, all of NZ well in level 1. And nothing came 15 minutes later, lady came to ask me what coffee I ordered. 10 minutes later still no coffee, while I saw plenty of coffee coming out. Asked about my food and told straight away but I had to leave as I had only only about 30 minutes. Wasn’t particularly busy, was a Wednesday morning. Maybe great for Sunday bunch or digital nomads. No apology from staff or expression of regret, how dare someone order coffee and breakfast and don’t wanna hang out for extended periods in a...
