The best Vietnamese restaurant in Auckland! The food is absolutely delicious — full of flavor, authentic, generous in portion sizes, and very reasonably priced.
We dined here today for my husband’s birthday, and from the moment we walked in, we were greeted with cheerful smiles and a warm welcome from the staff. The service was impressively fast and efficient.
We ordered a variety of appetizers including wontons, spring rolls (both deep-fried and fresh), stir-fried noodles, and fried chicken. For the mains, we had their famous pho — we tried both the beef wonton and seafood versions, and they were outstanding! We also loved the iced coffee — so refreshing and perfectly balanced.
What really sets Pho Bien apart is not just the incredibly delicious food, but also the exceptional service. The staff are genuinely attentive and always smiling, making you feel right at home. The owner even gave my niece complimentary cookies, which was such a sweet gesture! There was also no corkage fee for the cake we brought, and they kindly offered to keep it refrigerated. They even played a birthday song so we could all sing and celebrate together — we truly appreciated that thoughtful touch.
If I could give more than 5 stars, I absolutely would. We will definitely be coming back and recommending Pho Bien to all our friends and family. Thank you for making my husband’s birthday meal...
Read moreHad a bad experience when my boyfriend and I went to Pho Bien for lunch. We were served by a young guy, who seemed to have a problem with us when we sat down. Continuously being rude and interrupting us when we were trying to tell him our order. Then continued to stare at us from the till the whole time we were there. We’re disappointed with how we were treated in comparison to other customers as we obviously weren’t Asian.
To see other customers (Asian) receive a much better service from the wait staff and for him to give us attitude when we were polite to him was disgusting. We also had undercooked chicken that was really rubbery and hard to chew as well as the chicken being pink inside. Other than that the food was really nice, but the service has made the choice of coming back an easy pass.
Highly recommend if you’re Asian. It’ll be a 10/10 service for...
Read moreThis is our second time visit and this is a nice local restaurant. The staff are nice and friendly, fast and efficient. Clean place and has air conditioning and fans to make summer visits more comfortable. They must have a lot of family with young kids that go as they gave us children bowls and cutlery, which was nice. My boys had the Pork (char siu) Egg noodle and they really liked it. My husband had a Seafood combination Pho and I had the Wonton Pho. The noodle portion is HEAPS both the times we went my husband and I could not finish the bowls. So next time we will just order one bowl to share and try other things in the menu. I don't think it is a authentic Vietnamese restaurant though. The menu has Korean translations and has other Chinese-looking food in the menu. The food is slightly above average, not the best soup base for Phos I've tasted, has lots...
