This restaurant has become my go-to spot, particularly when dining out with my parents. Recently, I visited here again for dining with my parents, and it was nothing short of a fantastic experience. Located in the west-north Auckland regions, this eatery enjoys immense popularity within the Korean community.

I recommend making a reservation, especially if you are dining with a group of four or more. The restaurant delivers blends Korean and Chinese flavours, offering a delightful menu that includes iconic dishes like Jajangmyeon (black bean noodles), Jjamppong (spicy seafood noodle soup), and a list of crispy fried pork and chicken dishes.

The quality and quantity of the food never disappoint. Each bite leaves me thoroughly satisfied. But it is not just the food that keeps me coming back - it has the warm and friendly service. Despite the friendly atmosphere, the staff always manages to be kind and attentive.

I do have my personal favourite: the Scorched Rice with Seafood Soup (해물 누룽지탕). Imagine a warm, sticky soup with crunchy rice, tender seafood, and perfectly cooked vegetables. The subtle sweetness of the broth harmonizes beautifully with the heat, creating a memorable culinary symphony. Whenever I dine here with family or friends, this dish is a must-order.

Of course, their signature dishes are Jajangmyeon and Jjamppong. These classics consistently deliver high-quality flavours with joy. And if you're feeling adventurous, try the Spicy Garlic Fried Shrimp (깐풍새우) - a generous portion of sweet, succulent shrimp expertly prepared. And also the Sweet and Sour Pork (탕수육) tantalizes the palate with its perfect balance of flavours.

Golden Castle (황금성) has undergone changes since its previous name and management, so we decided to visit and see what’s new—and we were pleased with our experience!

We booked a table for six on a Friday night, and despite the busy hours, service was quick. The staff were attentive to our requests and questions, and the food arrived promptly—within 10-15 minutes, even during peak time.

We mostly ordered large plates to share, and there was plenty to go around. Our go-to dishes did not disappoint: the spicy chilli garlic chicken (깐풍기), sweet and sour pork (탕수육), Jjamppong (짬뽕)—a must-try for seafood and spice lovers—Jangban Jjajang (쟁반짜장), perfect for sharing, especially with guests new to Korean cuisine, and Ohyang Jokbal (오향족발), flavourful five-spice pig’s feet. The portions were generous and satisfying.

Korean restaurant that serve Chinese dumplings/noodles/fried rice's but in Korean way. This restaurant has been around since 1990's and first started out in Takapuna Village on the North Shore. It is has been situated in Henderson for last 20 years or so. Handy location, not far from Motorway off ramp. Food hygiene rated A grade by Council. Good prices with dumpling and set menus. You have to try "fried dumplings" - it is a must. Limited seating so can expect a wait during busy time. Very popular with Korean customer so you can't go wrong. Parking spaces in front. The only thing to look out for is the toilets are shared with other restaurants in the complex in the Corridor at the back. Even though it has signages designated to each restaurants but anyone can use any of the toilets. and it is not clean. But don't let that out you off.
