Returned the curry as there was a literal piece of plastic string in there and something tasted off with the curry. Was met with an arrogant and overtly rude manager or owner (whatever he wants to refer to himself as) who seemed under-qualified for the role he claims to hold. He would not let me get a word in to explain why I was disappointed with the food/experience and decided he would argue and talk over me instead. When you’re charging more than other places but deliver half the quality this time round and then proceed to ARGUE with customers instead of listening to the feedback and requests, it really leaves me wondering how this place has continued to remain in business lately.
This used to be a good place but it has declined recently and it’s no wonder why considering this flows from top management. We have ordered from here multiple times before and never had such a terrible experience so not sure if there has been a change of ownership but it is disappointing regardless.
The 1 star is for the one staff member at the front counter, he was polite and has always been a pleasure to deal with. I would also like to note that the owner claimed to have no responsibility of his employees and threw this one nice staff member under the bus in an attempt to save himself.
I do NOT recommend dining or ordering from here solely because the manager/owner doesn’t value paying customers enough to at least treat them with some sort of decency and respect when a concern is raised. Worth taking your money...
Read moreOrdered delivery via ordermeal and had cheese garlic naan, chicken korma medium and lamb saagwala mild (in case the chicken was too hot) Both dishes had a good amount of meat and sauce in the dishes and the chicken was perfect medium spiced. Normally Indian restaurants give little meat and a sickly sweet creamy sauce. These were Really tasty and fresh however we were so happy with our purchase, even though it’s a bit more than we would normally pay for takeout.
Updated review - lamb saagwala, chicken madras, garlic and cheese naan pick up on New Year’s Day. Everything was hot in temperature and tasted exceptional. This food is not how us Indians cook at home, but it’s just as enjoyable if you can’t be bothered slaving for hours to make a traditional curry. Perfect amount of spice, meat, gravy and the chicken and Lamb was so tender. Not bland, sweet, sickly and heavy like normal restaurant Indian food. Haven’t tried the butter chicken however but I see they have a kiwi and Indian version on the menu which is a great idea if you want more...
Read moreI walked in at lunch time and said hello. I did not get any form of welcome. The restaurant itself had a very gloomy look to it. I ordered 2 sets of biryani and came and set outside; forgetting to mention that I wanted it in separate bags. When I got the order, I asked if it was possible to get it in separate bags. He looked at me annoyed and went back to change it. I asked him which biryani was which, he told me it's written on the lid and walked of ahead of me to talk to his friend. I was not given a farewell or any cutlery with my order. So I walked back in to the restaurant and asked for some cutlery, instead of apologising he told he that they normally give those out. Poor customer service and top of it the biryani was horrible as well. It was full of red colouring and only had 3 tiny pieces of lamb. Not worth the price I was charged for it. Overall, punjabi kitchen as poor customer service, bad food and is over priced. Never going back there and definitely not...
