Our stay was paid by a third party who sent us the booking confirmation; even though it said that checkout time was 12 pm the cleaning ladies came earlier and we had a discussion.
When checking out we had to send the booking information for the late checkout to the receptionist because she didn‘t have it in her computer.
There was a 100 nz dollar bond upfront which was odd since we could only pay that with a credit card, no cash, and we thought the third party did pay everything already.
Without even asking and without a legal basis they copied our passports which was a reason to inform an official office for security reasons.
Room was tidy and nice with air conditioning, fridge, hot beverages and water cooker. The bathroom had plenty of towels and was provided with lovely soaps, conditioner, shampoo, etc.
On the last day we unfortunately had very loud and smoking neighbours so we couldn‘t stay outside at the terrace.
@the hotel regarding your comment: You didn't charge the 45 $ fee since we could provide you with the confirmation that the checkout was booked for 12 pm. Accepting only credit cards for "security reasons" doesn't make sense since you stole our passport data without even asking us and a legal basis which is a threat to our security so "security" is obviously not your internal guideline. Also the bond on the credit card was obviously because the cleaning ladies last longer to go to the rooms and to report if something is broken or missing; with a cash bond you were obligated to give it back to us right away when we checked out but with the bond on the credit card you have more time to check that matter and give it back later. Your dishonest comment mirrors your attitude regarding your guests. We...
Read moreTired, smelly and noisey not the words you want to hear at the start of a review..... when we arrived and noticed how shabby the units at the front of the grounds were we started hoping that Lincoln Green was not going to put us in one. Obviously these were part of the original motel as when you drive around you come to a nice new hotel. The staff member upon check in informed us our room is situated in the front units ….Yikes I thought. when we arrived and opened the door it smelt of cooking it actually turned my stomach we found noodles in the sink and dried seaweed on the veranda. as for the room it looked tired and shabby with dust and dirt on shelfs, cobwebs on the windows, as for the bed it was comfy ! to my amazement. it was a Saturday night mid Feb so very hot they had a ceiling fan in the room but this provided no respite from the heat, this in turn resulted us having the doors open at night, big mistake the noise from the cross roads was horrendous loud motorbikes, cars with music blaring shouting and screaming due to the geographical location of a bar next door to the Lincoln Green, and finally police sirens because of the fight outside the bar at 3 am , this is topped off with the NOMADS biker gang staying in the room below us (they were really good didn’t hear them at all) Funnily enough it was quieter in the day there than the night when we left ! so overall shocking stay won't be back I'd say if you were desperate and everywhere else was booked then maybe but this place needs a major refurb and air conditioning so you can have those doors shut over summer also they need to clean the rooms more thoroughly.

Read moreWe stayed here twice during our our recent trip to Auckland in December 2019. The first stay was with a group of 4 members of our family, we used a superior room with 2 king sized beds. The room had parking in the front and opened out to a large secured grassy area at the back. The room was clean and the beds were nice and firm. There was a fridge but no microwave in the room. The hotel is close to Nandos and Supermarkets. The staff were very professional and helpful. The issue with the superior room was that the bathroom did not have an active extractor fan and relied on a transom window for airing which could be an issue if many people want to use the bathroom. The second stay there just the two of us, we stayed at a lower cost internal room which was accessed from an internal hallway from the reception desk. Again the service was highly professional and courteous. The rooms are very clean but small and the main issue was the lack of adequate sound proofing, we stayed in a room and could clearly hear the profanity laden conversation of our neighbors till late in the night. Additional the bathroom drain gave off an odor, unusually the bathroom floor drainage pipe which could be seen through the grate was very large, although it looked clean there was an unpleasant odor although it was not strong. We shifted to an external room after the first night and it was much quieter although being by the laundry there was quite a lot of sound from the washing machines.
Despite this I liked the hotel and...
