I and my family have been regular customers to the Lincoln Road Coffee Club for long time now. We came this morning for a Family (6 Adults and 2 children) birthday breakfast for my Mother. We all purchased meals and drinks.
After cutting into my Spinach & Mushroom Eggs Bennedict and lifting the fork to put it to my mouth I see a hair sticking out of the food. I approached the staff at the counter and the staff member who I initially spoke to was lovely and had the plate and wanted to talk to the Manager. I asked for the plate back and I would talk to him instead.
He then approached me with another staff member who "both" told me it wasn't a hair it was from the Portobello mushroom as they grow hairs, at this time the Manager had picked up the hair and then dropped it. I had informed him that Portobello mushrooms don't grow hairs. He offered a replacement of which I declined.
I returned to our table and advised our group of his great customer service... NOT. My brother then approached the Manager and the Manager told him we had made complaints before, which has never happened, he also informed my Brother that the hair was from the sacking packaging (????) that the Portobello mushrooms came in.
My brother came back to the table and advised us of the conversation and we decided to leave even though we had not completely finished. The manager then approached again asking if I wanted a replacement and I declined, I then told the Manager that WE would not be returning to his store and would be providing a review that reflected his poor customer service plus ruining our family celebration at his so called award winning Cafe.

He advised that the hair was from the Portabello mushrooms (sorry Mr Manager, mushrooms don't grow hairs). Although he did say he would replace the meal, the person who purchased it was rightly unimpressed & did not want a replacement. I approached the Manager to explain. He then tried to tell me that although our party are regular customers, we had complained about food there before (WRONG). He then told me that the hair had been thrown on the ground by our party , which also is incorrect,HE had in fact disposed of the hair then appeared to deflect any further conversation by pretending to look for it with his phone. Simply put Mr Manager, your customer service skills are lacking woefully. EDIT: Editing my review as my last visit was terrible! asked for the Eggs bene salmon and got Eggs bene bacon instead.. and thickshake was also very runny and not thick! Harmony and chelsey would of never gotten this wrong as they know my order and know their locals. My question to management is where is Harmony and Chesley, I never see them and I really think you guys are ruining your business by putting under trained staff with no basic hospo skills on shift, I miss Harmony's contagious laughter and attention to detail and chelsey's beautiful service, always a highlight seeing these girls on my way to work.
