Yummy Dumpling 大青花饺子 — Restaurant in Hibiscus and Bays

It is impossible for us to recommend this place. We came in for an impromptu lunch, but definitely have some regrets now. I don’t like leaving these sorts of reviews, but don’t want others to experience what we went through last week. We came in (three adults) for a weekday lunch. We ordered five dishes off the main menu. The service was very slow and staff were uninterested, and the menu was only in Chinese for some reason, but several others came in while we were there and it got busy enough. The food was tasty, there's no denying that. We particularly liked the sweet and sour fish, and the prawns. The dumplings were delicious. However my first bite of the sweet and sour pork, tasted off. I wrote it off to the sauce, and didn’t worry about it too much. However I didn’t eat much of it, my father ate more, and Mum didn’t touch it as she doesn’t like pork. We took leftovers home as we had over-ordered. Following the meal, I used the bathroom - and warned my mother off using it as it was too dirty, which was disappointing. There was no hand soap either. We went elsewhere for bathrooms, and then the supermarket and home. My brother then ate the leftovers we had brought home. We three then all came down with a terrible case of gastroenteritis, with vomiting, severe diarrhea and cold chill fevers. This lasted around 3 days for my brother and 4 days for Dad and I, with my father ending up extremely unwell in particular. This meal was the only one that we all shared, and that nobody else in the house (Mum, sister in law, and the kids), also ate. I should have stopped when the pork tasted weird, but you simply trust that your food will be safe. I cannot recommend this restaurant in any way, and we are reporting this as a gastro...

My husband and I visited this place with our friends two weeks ago (not the first time we visited). After we finished our meal my husband went up to the counter to pay and that is when he received the most unacceptable service from the presumed owner. We were given a bill of $102. My husband handed the owner $100 in cash and apologised about not having $2 and requested to pay the remaining by card. The owner stared right into my husband’s face and gave him a big sigh and shook her head. My husband asked if there was something wrong with his way of paying but the owner didn’t answer and continued to give him a fed up face and seemed very angry. So he asked again if there was a problem with the way he was paying but the owner continued to ignore him. We did know that the service this place offered was not up to the standard but still visited because we thought the food they offered were okay but the recent visit changed everything and we will never visit nor recommend this place to anyone else as this place provides disgusting service! Moreover we realised that the quality of the dishes were very poor compared to our previous visits. If you don’t want to ruin your lunch or dinner don’t go...

Every time is NOT disappointed, every time!

This authentic Northern China Cuisine restaurant had never been letting us down, can't recall how many times we had been dinning there, have to say there was no single unpleasant experience.

It appears to be less busier after COVID which we should know that is how businesses are like nowadays. Food is still equally nice. These big pots are my recommendations to try if you haven't. You would need at least 3/4 people to finish it with one go lol. Don't even mention their dumplings! Just simply yummy! Nice varieties as well.

There is no corkage unless you wanna bring beers, which is just $10, quite reasonable.
