Katsubi Ormiston — Restaurant in Howick

I came to this mall for the first time and it will be the last. Because of Katsubi. The service was terrible! Firstly when I approached the store, the waitress acted as if I was interrupting her on her phone with her earbuds in and looked at me. Me not realising she was taking her AirPods out. I then began my order. For myself, my son and husband. I asked for all three to have rice, Please, she added the rice and then asked what sauce? I asked if the sauces could be added last, as I enjoy it on the top of the proteins. She asked me three times what sauces I wanted and I repeated, I don’t want them right now. Then asked which proteins I wanted? There was barely anything. Just 4 options of chicken and about a cup of the beef which was fine, for my son. I asked for that to be added to the small bowl. For mine I chose two chicken options, I just chose two of what was already out for myself. I then asked if mine or my husbands large bowls came with salad? She replied, I thought you only wanted rice!? Very rudely might I add. I said, I asked for the three bowls to have rice as u can choose salad or rice? She then abruptly went and got another bowl added rice and asked me, what salad do u want as I felt rushed I said just the cabbage and jalapeños with corn. I asked for the same for my husband. Paid and left. I left the store feeling extremely upset and told my husband immediately. He wasn’t happy either, but we were hungry, ate and then left as we have two small children. I don’t understand why people work in customer service if they don’t like people or clearly hate their job. I’ve worked in customer service for many years and would appreciate a smile or hello and...

Katsubi Ormiston has officially lost my support after tonight’s experience. I came in for a quick meal, but were instead met with the worst customer service we’ve encountered in a long time.

A young white girl working there, with a noticeable mole near her lip, was incredibly rude from the moment we walked in no greeting, no eye contact, and a clear attitude like she didn’t want to be there. Her demeanor was cold, dismissive, and frankly, unprofessional. To make things worse, the man working alongside her completely ignored us and kept speaking loudly across the counter like we weren’t even standing there.

Price for large donburi is very expensive. Owner must be very greedy. They use the same size bowl for regular size takeaway with 2 choices of meat and for a large size with 3 choices. Quantity of 3 choices is same as 2 choices and they charge $27 for large bowl which is not worth at all for that sort of money. Besides the price, the food that is not fresh at all. The owner seem to forget the fact that this is not a restaurent - this is only a takeaway stall in the mall foodcourt and the price they charge is very unreasonable compared to other places...
