Picasso Cafe — Restaurant in Howick

I’m not that picky about my matcha, but this one tasted like straight up milk. Food was decent though, but I wasn’t wowed by anything.

EDIT: Excuse me? I literally have a screenshot of my order. I ordered via DoorDash to pickup at 11:30 - 11:50 am. I had work at 12pm. How could I have picked it up an hour late? How rude of you to change your reply. I am an honest reviewer, I rarely leave bad reviews. Just accept that you messed up my drink, I didn’t like it, end of story — lower your ego. I rated you 3 stars, thats not even bad. I gave you the benefit of the doubt but after your reply, have fun with 1 star.

EDIT: IDC if I look crazy, the owner cannot do basic maths. Let me dumb it down for you. DoorDash pickup time: 11:30-11:50. I had work at 12pm at ORMISTON. It takes me 15 minutes to travel there. 11:50 minus 15 minutes = 11:35am. A FIVE MINUTE INTERVAL. I came 15 minutes before the pickup timeframe was over. Are you that dense to the point where after multiple deleted replies to me, you still cannot do the maths? First you say it was 1 hour late, then 25 minutes late. You keep mentioning using ceremonial grade matcha — I also use it as well. In fact, I will insert a picture of my own matcha. You tell me which one...

Been here twice and I’m kind of torn. Their sweets and their savouries are actually delicious. The first time we went to takeaway something small, we interacted with (I believe) the owner. He was very enthusiastic and we chatted a lot. Unfortunately, this trip took a lot longer than we anticipated - 20 minutes for a sweet, savoury, and a drink. But the owner was nice and very sweet so it was fine. The second time we went for another takeaway, we only intended to get one savoury. There were another 2 people sitting and waiting for their dine in order. Obviously they would be attend to first, but the young lad did not bother to greet us. We sat there waiting to get our order to be taken for close to 10 minutes. We eventually just left because no one bothered to greet us or reassure us how long they were going to take. We understand he was busy (with one table 🙄) but the lack of customer service shows us he does not care for his customers. This was the experience that left a bitter taste.. not sure if we want to return if getting a simple item to takeaway takes 20 minutes...

My daughter & I came here today for a late breakfast and coffee. As usual the coffee & food was great. Thought the owner handled the very loud group extremely well. Was about 3 families with small kids who obviously were having domestics with their husbands which resulted in yelling at each other in front of small children and customers inside the cafe. The children were very loud and mothers had no control allowing them to yell, tamper and break things inside cafe. Owner was very patient considering the circumstances and helped this particular child with polite instructions and direction. This child responded well and mother should be thanking him as many other establishments would probably ask you to leave. We will definitely be back for your delicious coffee...
