Taco Bell Botany — Restaurant in Howick

I ordered one chicken quesadilla combo for my brother One with beans And one vege burrito for myself I literally got black beans and cheese in burrito. When I opened v burritho it only had black beans and cheese in it. I walked to the counter to check if they have got the order wrong. They said there are too many burrito options i did not tell them which one. If i did not tell than how did staff called Stephanie who took the order wrote beefy cheesy burrito bean. I am vegetarian and i never mentioned the word beefy . I checked the ingredients in the menu online as well. All the burritos does come with rice, guacamole or salad, cheese, fiesta salsa, choice of proteins, mexican seasoned rice, ranch or sour cream. The basic ingredients of burrito. I tried explaining but staff did not agree and said i did not order it right. I ordered at the till. Staff did not take the order correctly. Their manager Pryianka was not helpful at all. Later infact they showed attitude as well and their tone was rude.She said they can make a new one but i wil have to pay again. Why would i pay twice . How can i eat beans quesadillas and burrito filled with only beans and cheese at same time. I have attached the photo as well with receipt showing wrong order taken. Instead of accepting their mistake they literally went rude and did not agree that they have taken the wrong order. Does the staff does not how to make a butrito or are they bot trained well?? On top pf thata jow come Manager Prianka did not know what ignredites are in burrito. I did not eat at Tacco bell for first time. Staff Stephanie walked asay from counter literally making weird and rude actions though i could not see her when she made those actions towards her manager. Later when i wanted to ask managers name , i called her she was pretending as if she could not lister. When i asked her name she said Stepahine took the order . And thn told her name. Our pick up order was to be ready in 20 minutes. Ended up waiting an extra 10 minutes.

I loved Taco Bell in the USA. This may look like Taco Bell, but it tastes nothing like it.

Taco Supremes - 2/10 I think the only part that resembles true Taco Bell was the cold, underripe tomatoes. The taco seasoning used in the ground beef tasted nothing like what's used in the USA. It actually tasted exactly like the cheap Countdown packets. The tortilla used for the soft taco was hard, dry and stale.

Crunchwrap Supreme - 1/10 See above. And there was no crunch.

Loaded Nachos - 1/10 These had potential, but you ruined it with overly seasoned chips. Why would loaded nachos need extra seasoning? I couldn't taste anything but that nasty orange powder. The chips were also way too thin to be used for nachos. They broke apart and couldn't hold a single ingredient.

Loaded Fries - 0/10 Even worse than the nachos because the fries were soggy and undercooked. But really, fries make a poor excuse for nachos.

Beefy (Bean) Cheesy Burrito - 0/10 I didn't know what to expect. The menu had little description. I guess that maybe I thought it would resemble the bean and cheese burrito from the USA. No, not at all. Not even close. It was that same stale tortilla "loaded" with about 8 black beans (why is NZ so against refried beans!?!) and some congealed nacho cheese sauce. It was so dry and flavorless, even after adding 2 packets of fire sauce.

It was our first time trying out taco bell in NZ and we hesitated before going in as it looked empty while the other food places around looked to be packed with people.

It was really a sign but hey, we never really tried it in NZ so we gave it a go. Big mistake! Service was OK. The staff were not really friendly, no smiles etc or response to our thank you. Just left food on the counter and took off without even answering our questions about drinks and if they could clean up the table.

Now to the food and atmosphere, firstly let's talk about atmosphere, it was alright, soft music playing and well lit which you'd think will be good, only that the place was not really clean. Tables were dirty and wrappers/food pieces laying around on the ground. If we would have seen the seating area before the order we would not have even bought food there. After being ignored by the staff we took napkins and cleaned off a table for us to sit at.

Now food, it was not really worth the money. Burritos had more lettuce and cheese than chicken. There was two very thin slices of chicken that was over cooked and dry. The tortilla was not heated up before the burrito was made and there was not enough sauces. It was blend and not even close to the flavour you'd expect. Same with the taco's and fries.. It was really bad. The only thing good was the nacho chips and that was probably from a pre made pack.
