I lived in Thailand for 4 months. This is the closest you can get from Thai food in Invercargill. Delicious food! I was kind of hoping they got morning glory with pork belly - my favourite in Thailand. But it's not their fault. I've been looking for this amazing vegetable in NZ and no success so far. It's not an easy ingredient to find. Anyway, I had a hot basil stir-fried pork and rice. Great choice! Go for it. Btw, the atmosphere is very Thai. Love it!
Update: I had to take one star away. I've been there a few times since. Everytime I went for lunch, it was pretty good. Once I went for dinner though and it felt like a completely different place. The worst part is that I convinced 3 friends who had never had Thai food before to try it and, unfortunately, it wasn't good. We had pad thai, a tamarind sauce dish and a pineapple fried rice. First two were good, but did not taste authentic; the last one was my biggest disappointment. I simply love this dish and I was thinking it would blow my friends' minds. It was very bad. You could taste a lot of curry on it and no pineapple at all. It looks like it was just badly executed... Or maybe the chef was trying something different that did not work at all. Anyway, I feel very sad because I'm not sure my friends will be keen to try Thai food...
Read moreDont order fresh spring rolls just all lettuce one piece of mint and a prawn, no vermicelli noodles no coriander or herbs totally lacked flavour .So did the clear noodle soup , but lastly and I am in disbelief those who have experienced true thai cuisine will understand me , there sticky rice was green in one lump real chewy and parts were hard , sticky rice is one of my favorite dishes, and I dont no if any of these cooks are actually from Thailand but that is not coconut sticky rice oh and there was know coconut cream or coconut anything. I will not return and would advise true thai lovers not to eat there 😡 , was never once asked if my meal was ok thank you very much , my partner and I were so disgusted I walked out , also ask your waiter I clearly asked if your spring rolls atleast contained coriander and he said yes a lie .I have spent a long time in Thailand and never came across sticky rice green rice like you served also your menu says sticky rice and durian ,not sticky rice and durian sauce , so maybe you should change your menu .And your reply had made me realize even more reason not to return or get people I know to go there as your...

Unfortunately due to staffing shortages deliveries currently come from Ten Ten Thai and NOT Thai Thai Restaurant. Apparently they use the same sauces so therefore the food is of equal quality and value. I beg to differ.
Despite ringing Thai Thai and requesting the food I ordered from them actually come from them, it arrived from Ten Ten. Being told it’s definitely from Thai Thai, it was exactly the same food as the first order. Just very poor form.
On the food side of things, the pork and basil was way below average and was soggy, with way too many mushy beans and bamboo shoots and only 3 terribly wilted basil leaves. Nothing of the fragrant and fresh dishes I am used to. Coming from Sydney and Melbourne where you’re surrounded by great Thai restaurants, I expected more.
The biggest letdown by far was the fact that they think it is ok to bring food from a different location than where you order from. That is just deceitful and not how you run a...
