I have been a long time customer of the Vietnamese Cafe thanks to there wondrous handmade spring rolls wrapped in iceberg lettuce.
The Cafe/restaurant itself does not have many redeeming qualities with old dated furniture, sticky tables and awful lighting making this not a venue for a first date or if you are wanting to impress the Jonses.
The parking is down the left hand side of the building with a back door entrance past the toilets that I suggest you avoid if you have a weak disposition. LARGE drums of rancid cooking oil are the first sights and smells that great you down the dirty alley way before pushing on past the dirty bathroom towards the not much nicer dining room. Service is short tempered and dismissive and it your lucky enough to get a clean table you are thrown menus and not much service where its advisable to go to the bar to order your food rather than wait for the staff to come to you as this can sometimes take longer than humanly necessary.
But why do I keep coming back to the Vietnamese cafe with all its potential risks not just to my eyesight but to my health as well? The food is down right delicious!!!
The kitchen has got the recipe right and they have been consistently churning out great street hawker style Vietnamese for years. Every time Im in Auckland I make sure to stop in for a plate of spring rolls and bowl of chicken curry. I just make sure to not use the back entrance and take hand...

I have never served noodles like that which I had to eat them with a spoon.... it was almost i was eating porridge ... and all the noodles soak up the soup there was nothing to eat later. I got disgusted hardly eat any. I should've returned my dish to start with.. I observed other people's dish ... it was totally different to our dishes. Since we had to forced to eat our lunch, i paid ... however i complaint again about the services and the food, in a hope that they would understand what I was complaining about. We had been a good customers for years but it was very disappointing . All wanted to say was it is not about money. The foods i got served was a bunch rubbish. However the stuff members didn't even blink about my complaint and laughed about it. So much...
