The Blend Cafe — Restaurant in Manawatū-Whanganui

I really wanted to like this place. Read an article about it in the paper and the new owners, but it didn't quite kit the mark.

We ordered the karage chicken bowl and curly fries. The sauce on the chicken was very sweet and didn't taste legit. I am sure many would liek it, but not an authentic sauce and was disappointing. The salad was mostly cabbage and barely dressed at all. We don't food drowned in dressing, but this was very sparse. Fries were OK.

For the price, it was below expectations.

I had a herb corn and bacon scone. It was uncooked inside and very unappealing. I did complain to a waitress. The first girl I spoke to didn't want to help me. Another waitress came. She took my left half away and I would say it was returned to me after a long time and it had been put in a sandwich press. It was still raw on the inside. Just a tasteful , nutritious , all encompassing, fun filled, all round natural ingredients, just packed with flavour and a great fun filled family time. Just a well laid out plate with all flavoursome free range vegetables and assorted meats . Just a well lit , lowfi style ceiling with minimal acoustics for great Cafe banter with the lads. Sauces from all kinds of sources, just freshly made , just the bog standard meal , good people, good times ,...
