Our orders came with ups and downs. Mostly ups for me.
I ordered the garlic chicken Tikka, and it was amazingly tender and packed with flavour, the size and amount of chicken we got was impressive but expected considering the price of an appetizer.
Someone else ordered prawns, and while they were plenty, they were burnt a lil too much for their liking.
We also ordered a mild korma, and even for someone who can't take mild sometimes, it seemed extra mild. Spice seemed nonexistent, though the smells were definitely there and the taste was ever so subtle.
Our garlic Naan was a bit of a let down. Because it wasn't garlic, we think, it was hard to tell after tasting something as flavourful as the chicken garlic.
All things considered I definitely enjoyed the food. And this place definitely does things better than others. But for the price there are other Indian places in whanganui that give you better bang for buck. Definitely worth trying though, it's easy to think differently from me when the food is this...
Read moreHas much improved since 2 years ago. Service is great, food is excellent if Raj is cooking, lovely interior, more of a traditional feel. Only suggestions would be to clean down tables straight away! There’s always dirty tables when I walk in and generally have to sit at it while it gets cleaned. Other suggestion would be to keep playing Indian music or movies and turn the volume up it’s like a whisper! I don’t go to an Indian restaurant to watch regular tv! Only exception is the All Blacks 😜 Definitely recommend 👌🏽😁
The curry had no flavour whatsoever just tasted of cream, asked for hot got medium. Have given 1 star as the vegetable pikaras and onion bahji were the best dishes...
Read moreGiven an option I would put zero stars. A full garlic chicken tikka doesn't even look like half chicken....very small portions for the price. One of us even believed it looked a chicken bought from countdown and some garlic added to it.
And talking about the biryani, they should not be having it on their menu anymore. Never realised biryani were meant to be sweet (from what I've tasted at least mughlai or malabar biryani have raisins and cashews in it...this one had none). Would liked to be enlightened on what type of biryani this is.
#neveragain even if offered something...
