Burger Cartel — Restaurant in Manawatū-Whanganui

Had the burger of the day (lamb burger). The guy said it would be $16.50 + $4 for fries. In my opinion the burger was to small for this price and instead of getting one big piece of meat, I got 3 stripes put together... my friend who ordered the same got 1 big piece. The meat itself was well done, I would have preffered medium. Beside the meat where only some salade and one onion ring on the burger, the mint sauce, which was said to be on there, seemed like "disappeared". The fries should be called fries beacuase they are not. They are potato grids. I had 5 of them, for $4 extra I would have imagined to have more than 5 of them and they seemed bought. The best thing is, that the guy overpriced us at the end but we sadly didn't realized it until we where back home.

Now to the good points, the guy seemed friendly to me, the burgers are looking good and the atmosphere is nice there.

This place is really for people who want to take some pictures to put them on Instagram but not for people who want to enjoy a good burger for a good prize to get a...

Our hotel had a list of dining options, and we googled a few. Hands down, Burger Cartel was the choice. We shared a garlic bread (mmm, made from one of those buns other reviews have raved about) and both had a fried chicken, bacon, cheese, chutney and sauce over waffle fries. A massive bowl of deliciousness! Left with a box of hot doughnuts for (much) later, too. What a great find. The owner/host was lovely and friendly. While we were dining, there were a few takeaway pickups, but this place deserves to be busier!...

This was really one of the best burgers I ever ate! The bun is fresh, soft on the inside and crispy on the outside. The meat was nice and Tasty and the toppings fresh. Fries come in a big portion and are crispy and nicely salted. The Service is excellent! Very friendly and I instantly got a fresh burger as there was some sauce on the one I ordered which I did not like (was not written on the menue, so I did not know it would be on the burger).
