Eggloo — Restaurant in Maungakiekie-Tāmaki

Definitely should try out this dessert at least once! The smell just wafts through the air which is what got my attention first as a passerby. The waffle cone cooked fresh, is topped with an ice cream scoop of your choice followed along with a syrup drizzle and other assorted toppings correlating with whatever the flavor is. The aesthetic of the ice cream is awesome, certainly has that wow factor! You do have to eat this quickly though as the waffle cone is hot, it tends to melt the ice cream and pool at the bottom making the waffle soggy or even end up dripping through the paper holder.

The taste of the dessert itself is rather self explanatory, nothing special there besides the freshly cooked waffle. Considering that the price of the dessert is more on the expensive side, I would say it's more of a "special" one off thing you buy occasionally. Side note: Also, wish that a spoon was offered as it's kind of difficult trying to eat the ice cream when it's wedged between the waffle and holder. Wait time is relatively short, but the small food cart definitely gets...

This place sells really nice Hong kong style waffles. Definitely recommend this place when you go sylvia park. I just loved how they make the waffles fresh for everysingle customer, which means your guaranteed to have hot and crispy waffles !

I ordered the Mango & cream bubble waffle monster and God damn that was delicious. Waffle was crispy and soft but also had abit of a chewy texture which I loved. Mango was abit more sour than sweet but it was perfect when eating it with the whipped cream because it helped to cut out the sweetness and richness of the cream and waffles.

Had the taiyaki peanut butter ice cream. The peanut butter ice cream was super creamy and tasted so good. Definitely the best peanut butter flavoured ice cream i've had. The taiyaki cone though was very disappointing. I thought it would be warm and crispy like the egg waffle, but it looks like is just a cold premade cone that is hard and stale. I am only going to get the egg waffle next time and I DO not recommend the taiyaki cone until they change the way it is served. However still giving a 5 due to the ice cream...
