I won't waste my money or time dining here. We waited quite some time for our order, which was surprising as it did not seem like the dining area was busy at all. We were happy to wait, as normally, a good meal takes a little longer to prep, right? Wrong! Not here. We ordered chicken schnitzel with chips and gravy. The schnitzel was pretty big to be fair, however what's the point of serving a big schnitzel, but has no flavor at all and the meat seems and does not even taste like chicken. Salt and pepper couldn't even rescue it! Horrible! Well,at least we could hopefully fill up on our chips and gravy, so we thought. Wrong again! Chips was okay, however the gravy looked like dirty dishwater with added rosemary to hide whatever else was in this watery concoction! They were very generous to add some cabbage salad which was also not edible as it seems whoever cooked this meal and put this slaw together, had not the slightest inclination of what to add to make it at least even just a little bit tasty. Needless to say, we paid almost $70 for 2 plates of food we left behind almost untouched! We weren't asked why we left the food. So for that, the service is also not great. I would say, people are going there to drink and mingle only, unless you get sozzled on booze, there's no way you would enjoy their food. I do not recommend. Add a few more dollars and dine out at a restaurant/bar where you will actually be served a decent...
Read moreI came in earlier this week and honestly left pretty disappointed. One of the first things I noticed was what looked like a manager just sitting on his laptop in the middle of the venue, for the entire time we were here. The place was being held together by the hard work of a few overworked staff members — who, to their credit, were doing their best and did an excellent job to keep things going. It just didn’t sit right — the team was working hard, and it felt like there was no real leadership or support.
On top of that, I felt unnecessarily pestered multiple times to sign up for their loyalty program. I understand businesses want returning customers, but the pressure was off-putting and made the experience feel MORE ABOUT SALES than service.
Then there was the actual state of the place. Two of the chairs at our table were completely loose — wobbly to the point where we didn’t feel comfortable sitting on them. And that wasn’t a one-off. Looking around, the whole venue felt tired and worn down. The décor was dated, the furniture looked like it hadn’t been maintained in years, and it just gave off the impression that the place has been neglected for a long time.
There are some major issues being ignored — both in terms of upper management and the physical environment. Until they start taking things seriously, I won’t be coming back, and I definitely wouldn’t recommend it to anyone...
Read moreDrove all the way from Hamilton to have the pizza at Garrisons as we mostly do. We are one of the regular customers and we always order same thing all the times. The service was not up to the standard this time. We have ordered to Aucklander pizza and chips on the side with drinks. Usually the food comes all together and we expected the same this time too. Unfortunately, the pizzas were on our table in 15-20 minutes and we had to wait for fries to come for another 10-15 minutes. When told the manager about that politely he said he will going to have a look and came back with ordered chips without apologising he just left the fries on our table. It shows that he is very unprofessional and he needs good training as this is not the first time he did this. During Christmas time we came to dine in as well and told us that all the tables are booked and u guys cam go. Where as on the booking card the timing was 4:15PM and we went there nearly 1:00PM. It seems like the manager wants customer to go without spending in the restaurant. Despite recognising a regular customer I dont mind if my food is an hour delay but the manager needs to change his attitude towards the customers. I dont know the name of the manager but he is short Indian guy. I hope that the management looks into it and train him accordingly as he is very rude and arrogant...
