When someone asks to dine-in, sometimes it's very important to them. Respect that request.
I have been on a challenge to reduce my single use plastic consumption this month. So, today I went to treat myself at Sylvia Park and decided to get some dumplings but dine-in, so that it came in the recyclable container and not the plastic one they use. They ignored that request and gave me the plastic container. When I expressed my discomfort, the woman looked at me like I'm crazy and said, "you know you can still eat it out of the plastic containter?" Like I'm stupid.
The thing is, I work in hospo, so it wasn't just the single use plastic. I also know that when your food is served in the plastic dish with the lid on, they have used it to microwave your food. So, not only did I inadvertendly break my challenge by ordering food from this store, I was also served microwaved dumplings for $18. 6 dumplings....
Read moreVery slow to delivery and suspect meat!
waited over 40 mins, staff didn’t seem to have any order of approx times or walked away when asked.
witnessed several exasperated customers who had been promised their order ‘in a minute’ but still waiting 10 mins later
Some of the meat in the bbq bun we ordered smelt a little funky and while the shop did refund the money the abysmal customer service experience and issues with food quality make it unlikely I would return.
Some suggestions I can make is look at your customer service and make this a priority, (generally people don’t mind waiting but you as the business need to set the right expectation, if it will take 10mins say 10 mins! Not it will be done in 1 min, additional if your busy let your customers know there will be a wait and last and most importantly check and use dated stock first especially meat and...
Read moreWent for lunch, staff is accommodating. Price is reasonable for their serving size. They also have daily specials so make sure to check it out! Waiting time for food is not too long, despite the long line before ordering. You can see how they prepare and handle the food as you can see chefs through glass windows.
3 stars though, as we were quite disappointed with the noodle soup. Wanted to order spicy beef noodle soup unfortunately they said it is not available, and the wonton noodle soup was the only available. So had no choice, went for the latter. Taste was bland, a dash of salt might be helpful? No umami at all, sadly. I hope they taste their soup and do some tweak with it.
Also had a taste of fried pork buns and custard bao, well, finally something I can say worthy to come back to!
There's always a room for improvement...
