I booked a table for two adults and one infant at 7 pm today, and I arrived 5 minutes early. My husband and I took our baby to the restaurant. I informed the staff about my 7 pm reservation under the name Winnie. However, they told me they didn't have a booking for 7 pm and suggested I might have booked at the city branch. I was doubtful and shocked. I checked with my husband, who said he had used the phone number from Google to make the reservation, so there couldn't be a mistake. After leaving the restaurant, I called the phone number displayed on the website again, and it connected shortly. I asked for their location, and they said they were outside the shopping mall. At that moment, I realized it was indeed the same restaurant. I and told them about the confusion with my 7 pm reservation through the phone. They apologized and said it might have been an oversight. It's frustrating to come all the way from the southern area for a famous Thai restaurant, pre-book a table, and receive such poor service. When I returned to the restaurant, they said our table was in the back, and we had to order at the counter. This was all quite normal until the moment our food arrived. They placed our duck noodle soup directly in front of my 8-month-old baby, even with utensils on top. I worried about what would happen if my baby got burned and I hadn't noticed in time. They lack training and common sense. I frequently dine out with my baby, but this is the first time I encountered staff who placed hot soup in front of a young child and left immediately. It was my first visit to this restaurant, and I'll never go back. A truly...
Read moreFive of us walked in on a Saturday evening and there were plenty of seats in spite of the fact that some tables were reserved.
Food:
I checked out their menu online ahead of time and planned to get the Plant-based Chicken with Satay Sauce. However, I was pleasantly surprised that one could actually order the other dishes and substitute the meat with plant-based chicken.
We ordered Chicken (plant-based) with Cashew Nuts, Tom Yum Chicken Rice, Fried Noodles Chicken, Tom Kha Chicken, Crispy Pork with Mixed Vegetables, Curry Puffs, and Roti with Pandan Spread and Thai Mango Sticky Rice for dessert.
For those who have sensitive taste buds, their dishes may be a little on the salty side (or that might just depend on the dish ordered). The rice and the vegetables were cooked just right.
I really liked their curry puffs. Who would not like a smooth, mildly-flavored filling engulfed by crunchy pastry? Their Mango Sticky Rice dessert was authentic, a friend commented. It brought back memories of his visit to Thailand.
Service:
We ordered and paid at the counter and was given a table number. The speed with which they brought out our food could give fast food chains a run for their money. All the staff were friendly and very efficient.
Atmosphere:
The set up will remind you of Asia - without the noise.
And... don't forget to check out the other food items that are on display. The fermented fish sauce is a must try - if you have no aversion to fish sauce, that is.
All in all, it was a very pleasant experience. Good food with...
Read moreIf you’re in the Sylvia Park area and looking for a great Thai meal, there’s a cozy little restaurant outside mall definitely worth a visit. It’s a small place, but what it lacks in size, it makes up for in warmth and charm. The atmosphere is relaxed, the service is friendly, and it feels like one of those local gems that’s still somewhat under the radar.
We ordered the chicken with cashew nuts and the pineapple fried rice, and both dishes were absolutely spot on. The chicken was tender and juicy, perfectly coated in a savoury, slightly sweet sauce, and the roasted cashews gave it a nice crunch. The pineapple fried rice came served in a generous portion, packed with flavour and fresh ingredients — you could really taste the balance between the sweet pineapple, fragrant rice, and subtle spices.
What really stood out was how fresh everything tasted. You can tell they use quality ingredients, and the dishes are prepared with care. Prices were also very reasonable, which is always a bonus, especially considering the portion sizes and flavour. Parking in the mall, can get busy on weekends. Clean toilets and friendly staff, food can be customized as per ur needs.
To top it off, they serve alcohol too — a nice touch if you’re looking to enjoy a cold beer or a glass of wine with your meal. Overall, it’s a great spot whether you’re grabbing a quick bite after shopping or looking for a laid-back dinner. We’ll definitely...
