DO NOT I REPEAT DO NOT BOOK A KIDS "BIRTHDAY" HERE!!!!! why can't I choose no stars. They don't even deserve one!!!!! This place is DISGRACEFUL!!!! I booked my sons 6th bday 3wks in advanced. Was asked if I wanted a host yes please as it's included in the price you pay. The party website goes on about a host, games, hats, mats, invitations etc sit back and relax and we'll do the party for you. What a joke! The "manager" who absolutely should NOT BE WORKING AS A MANAGER, rings me at 8:30am the morning of the party in some terrible English that I couldn't even understand. Saying they don't have enough party loot bags and I can't have a host. The convo ended with I can have a host and I'll only pay for 8 loot bags. Get there and the stinking hot room has a girl blowing up about 10 balloons and that's it. Should she take the kids order? No there's only half here? I said so what happens with games. she said she can do games or face painting. Then leaves. I go downstairs with the food order. Thinking hmmm OK been here awhile now and still entertaining the kids myself. My friend goes to see where the food is and where are the games. Oh yeah gona do that later. My sister asks the manager where are the games. Oh sorry we aren't hosting parties at the moment........ EXCUSE ME!? that's why we are here!!!!!!! I ended up hosting the party myself unprepared as I was told they would take care of everything. They didn't help with the meals. Cake. NOTHING. The "manager" comes upstairs defending herself about not knowing the party was on until today and defending McDonalds. I say my piece about how horrified I am and sorry won't even begin to fix this. She leaves and NO ONE COMES TO DO GAMES OR TRY REMEDY THE SITUATION. finally the kids start to leave a couple hours later and the manager comes upstairs..... Do you need help with the kids? What kids the party is OVER. Fortunately the kids were none the wiser and we had a great time without useless staff! Still had to pay for the food. No discount was offered. We had 10 kids there and 15 adults which most of them ate so they made a fair bit off everyone and not even a discount on the party kids meals. I still can't believe this day actually...
Read moreWas so disappointed to hear that both my parents had come home from a disappointing visit to Royal Oak MacDonalds. My parents are old and I was studying when they went out to grab food. It’s a fast food restaurant and since I work at one, I wouldn’t expect the experience to be top tier. Except I would expect at least some decency.
They ordered food and my Dad checked his order to make sure it was correct. My Dad is on a strict diet for health issues so he needed to have a specific burger without the bbq sauce etc. He saw that his burger was made wrong and brought it to the girls’ attention at the front counter. A white girl and an Asian girl. This happened around 7PM today (September 3rd). They came home and told me a white girl and an asian girl told my Dad that they ran out of what they needed for the burger. If these girls were decent at their job, they would’ve known that letting their customers know of these small incidents are important especially if you don’t want them returning to the counter, with their order in hand, looking a little confused. My Mum heard my Dad and found the two girls LAUGHING at him when he turned his back around to tell my Mum that they had run out. Whatever the reason was, laughing at your customers in plain sight is downright wrong.
My Mum did note that the manager on duty held the two girls responsible for the burger, making them redo it all again. Which is actually more than what I could ask for.
My parents also noted that the girls looked “young” and still in high school. So am I though. So are a lot of workers at multiple fast food restaurants. As far as I know though, they serve their customers respectfully. Being respectful to customers is not hard. Especially if they have a valid reason to be confused on something they weren’t notified on. Big thank you to the manager who was on...
Read moreMcDonald's advertise choc ice cream cones for $2. They have been doing this for the past couple of years. I challenge you to get one at McDonald's Royal Oak. We have been there through the drive in on numerous occasions and each time they say that they are unable to make it as the ice cream is too soft and they are not available. One time we spent 20 minutes at the drive through and were told they were not able to do them because it was too hot.
Today. after driving through the drive thru. I went inside and asked for the Manager on Duty. She explained that they had problems with their ice cream machine. Apparently it was not able to get the ice cream cold enough. Well I said you have known about this issue for two years. Surely McDonalds could get things fixed quicker than this? She explained that they are going to get a new machine next week (end of Jan 2020).
Well outside the outlet there is a huge banner advertising the choc ice cream cone as a summer treat. Maybe the owners should take this down and also off the drive thru menu. If you can't do it don't promise it!!
31/1/20 we decided to give them another chance today we drive into their drive in and ordered a choc cone. (one week later) We were told they could not do ice creams as the machine could not do cold ice cream. Hey what about the new machine???
We were told no good the machine was just settling in!!
Went to the check out and the lady there said they were swapping out parts to get the ice cream machine to work. hey i thought Mcdonalds were better than this 2 years to fix???? still no good. maybe we will get one...
