Where the rain was hot, but the chicken wasn’t.
Rolled up to Mr Katsu in Royal Oak on a rainy day carpark was empty, and so was the shop. Basically got VIP treatment without even asking. Walked in drenched, walked out... full (but flavor-starved).
Ordered the Katsu Fried Chicken with rice and Teriyaki Chicken with rice portions? Mad generous. Enough rice to feed a village. But here’s the plot twist: the fried chicken came colder than my ex’s replies, and the teriyaki was so plain I almost mistook it for boiled chicken on holiday.
If they served the chicken hot and with some actual seasoning, this could be a five star joint, easy. But right now? It’s a three star with potential. Maybe it’s just me, but my Malaysian tongue demands flavour explosions, not food meditation.

A bit of egg & spring onion otherwise a very...

Friendly staff, clean and comfortable seating for those who want to eat in and yummy food! Would prefer a more thinly sliced salad but that might just be my personal preference. Will be...
